ships help: defensive commands

Defense is just as important as offense in combat.
It's all well and good having a cannon that does a million billion damage, but if the enemy blows you up before you can fire it, you have a problem.
In this file are detailed commands for manipulating the defense of your ship.
Please note, this is defense only. For offense, see shelp combat commands.
Remember, if a command is split by a star, you only need to type up to that star. for example: mis*sile. You can type mis, miss, missi, missil, or missile, and they will all work.
Aliases are shown in brackets.
List of commands:
obf*uscate on, off, status: Operates your obfuscation field. Ranks 1 through 5 for nonmilitary pilots, Ranks 1 through 6 for military pilots.
dam*age: see what damage your ship has taken.
Def: raise the defensive armour.
defs: See what defenses your ship has, and whether they are online.
evade: turn your evasive mode on, if your ship has it.
holovid: turn on or off the holovid of your ship. A holovid is where your ship generates an image of itself to try and confuse the targetting systems of enemy vessels.
red/yellow/green: toggle the ships alert status.
rep*air : repair an element of the ship. Some components require battle
stations for reparation, while others require an engineering station. See shelp ship components for more info.
repairtime[rt]: check how long until a repair completes.
shi*elds : work with the shields of the ship.
