Announcement 1749

The Staff: Hello folks! I am super duper excited to be able to be the first host to announce our first Christmas event opening up! running from now, the first of December, until then, the 24th of December, we have an awesome OOC event running! On Navidad are now sold advent cabinets. These cabinets, once bolted down, can each day be consulted for a different reward! there are 24 things to claim in total, whether they are amusing things, things that get you rewards or even a bag of coal! just kidding, there's no coal! You can type unfrost then your cabinet's name each day to get your reward but be careful! Once the day is up, if you didn't claim, you won't get it again! The item you get is random, but everyone will have the same by the end, so for instance, today you might get one thing, while your friend might get another but by the end, you'll all have the same thing! Once you have defrosted your window for the day, type use item in cabinet to use your item. Type it more than once as the result may change! This is just the first Cosmic Christmas thing we're doing, so look out for more stuff soon!

The Staff: Hello folks! Just to expand further on that IC headline. From now until around the 12th of December, you can go to Santa's house on Navidad and type secret to enter yourself in for Secret Santa. Around the 12th or so, the hosts will run a selection and you will be given another person on the game, along with what they asked for in terms of a christmas wish, whether it is a towel, a lump of coal, a mineral sack or a painting! You do not have to get what they asked for, and what they ask for should be guidelines on things they like, but you do have to get them something! Once you have got the item, go back to Santa's house and type secret to submit it. On Christmas Day, an elf will deliver your present to a tree the player owns ready for them to unwrap, never knowing who bought it for them! As an added incentive if you get your selector something, IE if you get a person and get them a gift, you will receive, upon delivery, five dollars donator cash from Santa! If you get them a gift and they get who ever they had to get a gift for something, then both you and them will receive an additional five dollars! Let the mayhem, commence! Remember, the secret Santa is in character and the person who is getting you a gift is a player, not a host!

The Staff: Hi everyone! Just a quick one. I want to trial a new HTPC thing tonight. So for tonight's HTPC, instead of going to Business Central's library, instead when a host shouts that it is open, simply type @htpc. Nothing huge has changed about the format, it's just some changes to help better protect people's ooc verses IC identity, as well as cut down on some spam. Thanks everyone

The Staff: Hello folks! When you start a moon task of salvaging or mining, there is now a confirmation prompt which shows you a range of two numbers, minimum and maximum value. These numbers are how much it will cost you, roughly, to do this task. These numbers obviously change based on the amount of citizens you put to a task, but are rough guides only. When the final calculation is made, the MUD works out how many citizens bothered to work based off of the wages you set, so for instance, if you choose higher than average pay, your final cost will likely be closer to the maximum value, but if you set below the average, it will be closer to the lowest cost. These numbers are there to give you a rough idea of best and worse case scenarios. I hope they help!

The Staff: Hello hello. Its me again. I would firstly, like to take this time to thank all of you who participated in today's event. As well as taking time out of what might be a crazy time what with the holidays to join us in the wintry festivities. As some may or may not know this is the first huge event I've ever really been involved with from start to finish. What started as a silly comment turned into something that was really beyond anything I've ever done. Part of what makes Cosmic Rage great is the people behind what makes the magic happen. I am grateful for my fellow hosts. Without their help this thing would not have at all been possible. I'm very grateful and thankful for them. And to you lovely amazing players who came to enjoy what was worked on. feedback as always is encouraged. What did you like? What didn't you like? Ears are open to all you have to say! I will not ramble for much longer, but please do let us know. I hope to see you all again in future events. Happy holidays from me to you.

The Staff: Hi players, For those of you who requested gifts with your kids at Santa's grotto you should be able to gather them now. You use the gifts under command to retrieve them. You need to own the tree and it needs to be bolted! Merry christmas from Eggnog the elf!

The Staff: Hello Everyone! For those who participated in Secret Santa, you can now retrieve your gifts from your secret Santa from your trees using the gifts under tree command just like the grotto gifts. Participants have received their out of character reward, too! From everyone here on the Cosmic Rage staff we wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas, and if you do not celebrate, a very Merry Wednesday! Remember to raise a glass to us when you're at the table!

The Staff: Hello Folks! I am super excited to be able to bring you a small change to Cosmic Rage's website. Now, if you load any page and go to the header, you will see two new links titled View recent Changes and View recent Announcements. these do as you would expect, but they now allow you, through the use of two boxes, to view a range of changes or announcements. Lets say you've been absent for a couple of days and there have been 50 changes. Instead of viewing them all on the game, you can now go to the website and view them there. Enjoy!

The Staff: Hi, players. As some of you might recall, a new help file has been added to our compendium, help reporting, which outlines several guidelines on how to best format your reports so that you can help us to help you. We strongly encourage everyone to give this a read as we intend to be following this guideline ourselves when reading reports. Essentially, this means that if your report is lacking in context, logs (where necessary) or any of the other things outlined in this help file, your report may be closed without any action being taken. I'm sure it goes without saying, but we will say this here anyway. The hosts administrate CR and fix bugs, typos, and add new things as a hobby and enjoy our time here, and the less time we need to spend decoding vague one-sentence reports, the more time we will have to have fun making new things for you all to report about... I mean play with. In short, even if you don't often read help files, please give this one a read. This is the end of your Hostly PSA Keep raging on!
