The Staff: Hello everyone! As part of our Cosmic Rage birthday celebrations, we hosted a birthday paintball event, and what an absolute blast it was! Thank you to everyone who came along, got covered in virtual paint, and made the event so much fun. A huge congratulations to our winners! Ginglepaw takes first place and walks away with 10 donator dollars, as well as the brand new Master Painter badge! Supremegamer claims second place and receives 5 donator dollars! Twilight Diamond finishes in third place and earns 2.5 donator dollars! Congratulations to all three of you, and thank you to everyone who participated. It was fantastic seeing so many players join in the birthday festivities and make the event one to remember. The Staff: Hello, players! Following the tremendous success of our tenth birthday celebration, we discovered something: some people really enjoy solving puzzles... and other people really enjoy designing them! As long as they're not too difficult, of course. We realized this was a form of creativity that we had a lot of fun exploring, and we think many of you will enjoy it too. As such, we're pleased to introduce our newest donator item: the Escape Room Editor. For $25, you'll receive your own complete escape room creation suite, allowing you to build interactive puzzles for your fellow players to solve. Hide clues, reveal secret objects, create locked doors, passwords, timed challenges, scoring systems, and much more. Then sit back and watch your friends struggle to find that one hidden key they somehow walked past three times. If you're interested in playing escape rooms, please see the associated help file, Help Escape Rooms, which explains how they work from a player's perspective. Right now there aren't any escape rooms in the game. That part is entirely up to you! We encourage authors to advertise their creations and invite others to come test their puzzle-solving skills. If you're worried that designing an escape room sounds complicated, don't be. The Escape Room Editor includes a comprehensive built-in help system featuring a step-by-step tutorial that walks you through creating your very first puzzle from start to finish. Finally, a special thank you goes to TwilightDiamond, who originally suggested this system and served as one of its primary testers throughout development. She helped translate what could have been very confusing programming concepts into something approachable and easy to use. Happy creating ... and happy escaping!

The Staff: Hello Folks! I've had a bit of fun playing around with the trash cleansing activity. It still retains the same upgrades and such, but I've made it a bit more interactive. Instead of it now being a one an done deal, you set your machinery moving and walk away to make a cup of tea, there's now some extra bits and pieces. Your trash cleansing equipment can become heated, so you need to occasionally vent the gas from it. Occasionally it may also find some bonus material, which you will need to react to by crushing it or extracting it. It's nothing too complex but you can also now choose from three modes which determine both speed and safety. Higher modes make the cleansing go quicker, but also damage your equipment more often too! The Staff: Hello folks! We are very pleased to bring you something we have been cooking up for a while now, passenger transport! For those who have not touched this activity before, or those who tried it once and thought it was a bit flat, now is the time to give it another look, because it has been rebuilt from the ground up with some seriously cool stuff. So what is new? Passengers are actual people now. When someone climbs aboard your ship, they come with a personality, a mood, a backstory, and opinions about how you are doing. Some of them want to chat. Some of them want you to leave them alone. One of them has not let go of the armrest since they sat down. And the tourist? The tourist is paying you to take the long way round so they can look at the stars, so do not burn hard and wonder why you got a bad fare. Talking to your passengers is the heart of it. You can size someone up if your insight is sharp enough, and that read tells you how to fly the run. Give a nervous flyer the quiet, quick trip they wanted and they settle right down. Annoy the recluse with four questions and they go cold on you. A talker left alone too long goes bored, but give them the company and they will tell you so. There is no single trick that works on everyone, and that is the point. Your cabin matters. A bare cockpit is a miserable place to ride, and your passengers arrive in whatever mood your ship puts them in. Put good furniture, and they board halfway to content. Each different kind of furnishing counts, so variety beats ten of the same chair. You do not need a bigger ship, you need a better cabin. Here is the thing though, the better you get and the harder the fares you unlock, the more those passengers expect when they step aboard. A lounge that dazzled your early commuters is just furniture to an executive who checks the time every few seconds. There is always one more thing worth bolting to the floor, without hoarding and unnecessary bloat of course. Your standing with the transport board climbs based on how the ride went, not how many rides you ran. Good deliveries earn reputation, reputation unlocks harder and better paying passenger types, and the manifest cap goes up so you can carry more at once. Starting out you get one easy commuter. Work your way up and you are juggling a cabin of five, each one a different read, and the payout reflects it. Fly someone well enough and they remember you. Turn up at a desk later and they might be there waiting, asking for your ship by name. Regulars ride easier and tip better, and there are few nicer things in this job than a familiar face settling in and telling you they were hoping it would be you. A few things to watch out for. A weapons lock on the hull while you are carrying nervous passengers is a very bad idea, they come apart fast and losing the lock matters more than winning whatever picked a fight with you. Let someone's mood drop far enough and they give up, stand by the airlock, and walk off at the next landing without paying. Leave someone sitting in your ship for too long and they will call for a patrol pickup themselves, and the board takes a hard mark for it. Do not park a full cabin and log off. The Staff: Were delighted to announce the launch of our brand-new calendar system! Keeping track of your plans should now be easier, clearer and far more useful than ever before. The new calendar lets you browse upcoming and previous dates, see all events scheduled for each day, open events for full details, create your own events, edit them later, share them with other players and set them to repeat daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. Shared events will automatically appear on the calendars of everyone involved, and any updates will be passed along so nobody is left working from an outdated version. Even better, the calendar is now linked directly to the appointment system: once an appointment is scheduled, it will automatically be added to the calendars of the person requesting it, the person it has been assigned to and any additional attendees. If the confirmed time, appointment details, assigned staff member or attendee list changes, the calendar entries will update automatically, and cancelled or concluded appointments will be removed. This is a major improvement over the old reminder list, giving you a proper view of what is happening, when it is happening and who is involved. Please explore the new system, add some events and let us know about any missing entries, duplicates or other unexpected behaviour while we settle it in! The Staff: Hello folks! Space dust analyzation has been rebuilt. If you have never touched this one, or you tried it once and found it was two commands, a cup of tea and a nice way to sleep; it is worth another look now. Here is what was wrong with it. You typed dust to find a cloud, flew over, typed analyze, and a paper came out. That was the whole activity. Nothing you knew mattered and nothing you did changed the outcome. Now the laser reads and you decide. It all runs off the one command: dust scan sweeps for clouds, dust sample takes a physical sample and breaks it down by element, dust rad sweeps the cloud for its decay chain, and dust file is where you commit. The old analyze command is gone. The composition tells you what the cloud came off. Hydrogen, helium and iron traces is a star throwing a flare. Tritanium, polymer fibre and oxygen is a hull that opened, ship metal and the air that was inside it. Scorch that same metal, take the oxygen away, and somebody was shot at instead. The decay chain tells you how old it is, and here is the part I like: no chain covers the whole range. The sweep naming Tritium-Helium has already told you the cloud is young before you read a single number, and the balance between the three isotopes places it inside that. All the tables are in the help file. That is where the activity lives now. Then you file, origin and age, both from menus. Get both right and a full report set prints. Get one right and you get a single sheet. Get both wrong and the printer stays quiet, because the laser has already burned the cloud and there is nothing left to hand in. Read twice. Your data analysis decides how much the console gives you rather than whether you are allowed to play. A poor read comes back as wide bands and leaves you to work inside them. Fumble it badly enough and the sample is lost on the way in, though the cloud is still out there and you can go straight back for another. Read it well enough and the console finds the signature in the reference library and names the origin for you outright. That is the only time the machine will do half the job, and you still have the other half to work out. Sensor management now sets how wide a sweep you can make, which is what it always should have done, so a sharp operator finds clouds a weaker one flies straight past. Research is unchanged: fill your container, take it to a research center, type research. The Staff: Hi guys! As the city is live, I guess we can announce this. Dragons, there is a room in the new Navu city from which you can now train your dragon hatchlings how to fly. Once they complete flight training, they will be able to fly after you when you fly into the sky. Enjoy!

The Staff: Hello folks! Ship defense drone controls have had a bit of a tidy-up and, more importantly, should now be much easier to get your head around. The old defense drone command had grown into something of a monster over the years, with a lot of useful functionality hidden behind commands that were not always particularly obvious. That has now been reorganized, with def-d giving you a much clearer overview of your guard drones, where they are, what they are doing and what you can actually tell them to do. The bigger change is how guard drones are handled when you are not using them. You can now use def-d powerdown to power down and uninstall your active guard drones, storing them safely aboard the ship along with the room they were installed in. When you want them back, def-d powerup will power them back up and reinstall them in their previous locations. This replaces the rather awkward distinction between drones being recalled, idle, powered down and generally sitting around wondering what their purpose in life was. Individual drones are also easier to work with: def-d will show you the available drones and their numbers, and you can use commands such as def-d go , where, look, health, count, busy, nest and toggle to control or inspect them. In particular, drones can now be moved properly even when they are sitting idle rather than actively fighting something. The existing room defense drones, emergency drones, nest sweeps and battlefield information are all still there; this is primarily a cleanup of the controls and the guard-drone lifecycle rather than a replacement of the defense system itself. The Staff: Hello folks! some quick fire related stuff. First, fires will now prefer to spread, if they can, out from houses. What I mean by this is if a fire spawns on a plot of land, it will prefer to spread outwards, rather than towards the house. Second: I have capped fires at five maximum in a room. third: Wind direction now impacts fire spreading direction. Fourth: When a fire spreads, it no longer clones itself, it starts small, and the parent fire suffers for it. Next, because I have lost count: Be aware! there is a chance if a fire is in a room, your furniture will catch fire! Next: Cold weather now suppresses fires. Outdoors below 10C, fires can only grow to a limited size; freezing temperatures or significant snow cap them even more severely. Deep snow can smother fires. Fires burning outdoors on heavily snow-covered ground may gradually sputter out. Fire damage descriptions now correspond to the damage actually inflicted. The severity message players see is based on the same damage roll used to hurt them, rather than a separate random roll. And I have added some more behaviour around ash and smoke messages. thanks!
