The Staff: Hi Guys! Just a quick note for everyone's attention. When you submit rp prop requests, these should go under donator item, not misc. Likewise, if you open a discussion regarding a potential request that could be a donator item, put it in the donator category. It makes our lives so much easier in terms of record keeping and such. Obviously, once we put in the form we talked about at the htpc this is automatic, but we wanted to put this out there for your reference in the mean time. We understand why it can be confusing, after all it's rp points not donator stuff. But Please, donator items is the category. thank you!

The Staff: Hello guys! Just a really quick one regarding space missions. I wanted to give you a quick update to let you know they are not forgotten or anything like that. there are a couple of small bugs around movement that I am slowly figuring out, and I am attempting to develop the ships of the enemies to feel more unique from each other, give more of them distinct roles and such. It is my aim to have missions back open very soon, generally along side ground combat missions rewards going up a bit as well as the new activity points system. The latter is ready pretty much, just waiting on the other two. So you see they are somewhat linked but luckily not holding each other back. I can't give you an exact date other than it's right at the top of my list and I'm not doing anything else beyond that in terms of big coding. Thanks!

The Staff: Hello folks! Just a quick one. There are now several new ground mission layouts for you to enjoy! These vary in size and layout and some of them now also come with extra challenges! These extra challenges are boss mobs, effectively in some missions, not all, the MUD will spawn several higher difficulty mobs in certain locations. These boss mobs will be ones you are familiar with, for example you might end up with 3 Vacus soldiers in a room, but will vary each mission! The boss mobs pay double rewards, so are well worth fighting!

The Staff: Good Evening players! Space combat missions are now back open for your delectation and delight. In addition to what you saw in the testing, I've fixed some bugs around movement and things like that. Most enemy ships now have something unique that sets them apart from one another. whether it is the Droidic fighters who gain boosted damage the more they hit, or whether it is the Vacus gunships and their leaching drones. Some of the main points for you to look out for on the changed system includes: 1: Reduced numbers in missions. This is pretty much a given but it has to be said. Mission numbers have been kicked to the curb so much they are now much more manageable. 2: Ship types, the enemy behaviour, per ship, as previously mentioned, is now much more unique both to the race but also to the type. You should, in theory, now be able to observe different movement patterns depending if you are fighting for example, an attack ship verses, say, a cruiser. 3: Unique abilities. as previously mentioned, many of the ships now also have unique abilities, most of these we'll leave you guys to discover, but one you should be aware of is that destroyers, such as the attack ship of the Vacus and the Droidic Destroyer, now boost their allies range and damage, worth baring that in mind! 4: Trackers: Trackers now do not announce range in exact numbers. Instead they use dog fight, mid, long, and extreme. dog fighting means the target is in range of your lasers, mid it is in range of your cannons and long it is only in range of your warheads. Extreme means you can see it, just not shoot it. You can also type t dmg to see the damage you are dealing. The repeat command uses the old system for now, but this will be updated in due course. 5: Warheads. Yes, I know it is unpopular and believe me I tried absolutely every other combination to balance against it, but there was simply no other way. plasma warheads have had their damage dropped, and salvos now fire 5 per shot, not 10. this change, as unpopular as it is, is here to stay until such time as salvos can be repurposed into something else. I recognize this may not be what you guys wanted, but as it stands, it's either this, or we leave it shut for another week while we wrestle just with that problem, which seems unfair. 6: Heat: Ships now have a heat system. Heat goes up when you fire weapons, and goes down over time. You can force quicker cooldown by typing cooldown in engineering and control room with water or liquid nitrogen. further tweaks to this system will follow to attribute ship size, for example, smaller ships being able to cool faster. 7: Mission based rewards, the space combat rewards, have of course, been tweaked, but along with this you now get both a reward for your kills as well as a reward for the mission completion itself. This brings space combat in line with ground. Unlike with ground, the mission reward is added to your terminal payout than when you jump out. 8: combat drones: These are temporarily offline, please see the poll as to why this is. Be careful when salvaging, please. 9: Shields: Shields have been made more relevant again, as damage received that goes over a certain amount now hits shields, upgrading them from just something that deflects lasers to an actual decent system. 10: Components: Several components now sit on the outside of your defensive armour these include engines, cargo supports, sensors and weapons. this is the same for the enemy. So if you want to stop an enemy moving, take out his engines. I probably missed a whole bunch in this summary but the short version is, mission are back open and ready for you to enjoy! Obviously I'm not done entirely, and tweaks, little adjustments and of course, down the line, some amazing features! this was generally not intended as an overhaul, but more of a realignment of our system to make it more open and a butt ton less spammy It also aimed to give our enemy ships personality and unique feels, which I think we've succeeded in doing. Our feedback box remains, of course, open and we hope you look forward to what more is to come!

The Staff: Hello again, players! To compliment the prior announcement, I wanted to follow up with a second just as fast. As you know, we mentioned at the HTPC about a new points system. Over the past 6 to 8 months or so, over on a separate debug server we've been toiling away with new point calculations and cool offs and all sorts. Effectively, how this new system works is, it encourages you to branch out, rather than focus purely on 1 single activity. So for example, if you're a low ranked pilot with a single star, and you do trash collecting a lot, you'll notice the reward starts to curve off after a while, this is to encourage you to move on to say, hand mining or hunting. Like wise, once you get to 3 stars, the curve becomes pronounced as you are now ready for volcano harvesting to take its place. Of course, no system like this is perfect and as such we've put in place some controls to ensure we don't end up with run away point gains. these come in the form of temporary caps. In an absolutely ideal world, you guys will actually never ever see these caps. If you do see them, they'll show up under your charinfo command. Ultimately, they're not meant as a punishment, they're a safety bar so that, for example, if we've completely underestimated asteroid harvesting, suddenly we don't end up with everyone on 350 stars with nothing to do! Long story short is, the new point system is, with any luck, a lot more keen in terms of a smooth progression throughout your cosmic Rage career, rather than one activity paying pants, then suddenly you fire up 20 stars, then suddenly you're back to pants again. In the interest of transparency, we've designed it as a game designer would. Meaning, don't expect to earn 10 stars in a day or anything like that. But the progression should also feel like you're getting somewhere, at least. This system is now online and ready for you to engage with. Hopefully we got it all correct and this is another major step forward to tackling some of our biggest issues! if it all goes wrong, the old points are safe, so we can switch back no problem, but fingers crossed that doesn't happen! One big advantage of this system is it's really easy for us to tweak back stage, which also means it's easier to add new activities too! The Staff: You can now customize the messages for when you prepare to attack. This is when you type the kill messages. The price is 100 rp points plus 150 rp points for each message you change. This means that you don't actually need to change all of the messages, but you definitely can.
