ships help: Ratika [rats]

The change of Ratika in the recent years has been some what of a conspiracy theory between most scientists.
Those respected in their fields argued "RATIKA are stupid." RATIKA do not exist for any purpose other than to annoy us, and will never evolve, or change.
It is only more recently that the younger scientists have dared to question older facts, have thought to glance over old tests and start to question a subtle shift in behavior being observed from the RATIKA.
Ratika stands for nothing, and is an extension of the word rats which is then translated from dragon. The word "ratiika", pronounced rat eeka, meaning to come from debris. Until early 2491, the Ratika were considered to be simply a race of barely intelligent beings which lived in debris and whose only purpose seemed to be to burn ships. the ratika were able to be killed with spray bottles and it had even begun to become a sport. It seems, however, that the ratika have now evolved.
As of the early 2491's, scientists observed that there seemed to be several different types of ratika, designated by colour.
Each type of Ratika had a separate role, which we have listed below:
1. Scout, white: A scout ratika seems to have little purpose, though Scientists believe it may be used to find out what the surrounding area is like. It digs holes in your ship that if left long enough will cause a breach.
2. Poisoner, green: This seems to be the lowest form of defense for a ratika nest. The poisoner ratika simply patrols a ship and poisons any other lifeforms it comes into contact with. If you get poisoned you resolve the poison by eating a plant. Plants are found by typing pick in an out door location
3. Seeker, purple: This type of ratika seems to have been especially evolved to cause distraction while the nest is built. It will first seek out cargo bays, access points from which it can drain the ship of warp fuel. Once the fuel is gone, it will then begin to set fire to rooms.
4. Warrior, black: The warrior are a nests primary defense and offense. They are used to destroy enemies.
5. Nest builder, silver: As the name suggests, the nest builders will first use debris[which they bring in with them] to start building a nest. When complete they become its first defenders.
6. Queen, gold: First the queen will help build a nest. Once a nest is built the queen has the role of laying eggs to produce more ratika, eventually overwhelming a ship.
7. Cleaner, blue: The cleaner first simply moves around, eating the corpses of its fallen allies. The cleaner is the biggest problem for those wishing to collect the corpses of the fallen ratika. When it has enough corpses absorbed, the cleaner will become a queen.
Further Notes:
1. For every minute a warrior is alive, it becomes harder to kill.
2. The more warp fuel a seeker takes on, the harder it is to kill.
3. 100 holes=a hull breach.
4. 50 corpses=cleaner to queen.
5. When a seeker dies, it explodes, causing damage all around it.
Where do ratika appear?
Ratika appear from, and appear to live in, debris. the bigger the debris the more ratika you will get, and the more of the bigger types. Smaller clouds will only yield scouts, while bigger clouds may yield a lot of various types.
Be aware: Debris drones will cause large amounts of ratika, due to the many debris clouds being drawn in at once!
Ratika also live in the cores of moons and planetoids. It is thought they are using the warmth so that their eggs fertilise quicker.
how do I defend against ratika?
there are several methods for defending against Ratika:
1. Scouts, poisoners, and seekers can be destroyed using spray bottles. It will be most effective on scouts, and least effective on seekers.
2. Any ratika, bar those in nests, can be fought using defensive drones.
3. Any rat, including those in nests, can be fought using guard drones.
4. Undoubtedly the best way of killing poisoners is to buy a ratika trap and deploy it in a room. Note: even if the ship has one trap only, poisoners will head to the room where this trap has been deployed. Remember that traps have 10 uses.
What are holes?
Holes are little craters that scouts will dig in the floor, or walls, of your ship.
When you get 100 holes in a room, you will get a hull breach. You repair holes using a hole repair kit.
What are spray bottles and how do they work?
Spray bottles are bought, like all vermin items, from the vermin shops. they are installed into the ship rooms, one per room, and will spray a very fine liquid over the room if a ratika is in it. the sprays run off of a chemical called alfozen68, which you buy in barrels of 40,000 from the same place as the spray bottle. You install the barrel into the control room and can view how much chemical is left by typing status. Note that there are places around that do sell the spray bottles alone, but alfozen68 must be bought from vermin stores.
What are extinguishers?
Extinguishers are used to put out fires. You can get them from vermin control shops. they require your water tanks to be filled in order to use them.
what are defense drones:
Defense drones, bought from vermin control shops, are small drones which when deactivated sit in little holders against the walls of the ship. when activated they are fierce fighters, on a similar height to the ratika and so able to take them on in a pitched battle. Defense drones do repair themselves when deployed.
Ratika are too small to be attacked with normal weapons, and that is why you must use these drones as your squadron.
There are two types of drone:
1. Standard: You can get one standard defense drone per room. It will never move from that room, and until it is destroyed you can not install a different one in that room.
2. Emergency: You can have, at maximum 10 emergency drones on your ship. This type of drone can move and will attack where ever they detect ratika after being deployed.
The usage of the drones is very simple, its just a case of deploy, and watch the magic happen. After the ratika are cleared from the ship, the drones will return to their designated holds, and perform repairs, if necessary.
Guard drones:
You are allowed up to nine guard drones per ship. Each guard drone is something you control personally via the control room. they are a lot tougher than normal drones and hit harder, too. The difference between guard drones and defense drones is, guard drones are the only type of drone that can enter, and clear out, nests. Guard drones, like defense drones, do repair themselves when at work.
What are nests:
Nests are what the nest builders build. they are formed of debris and will sit in one of your ships rooms. while a queen is in the nest, she will always lay eggs, causing more and more ratika to be spawned. to get rid of a nest, the guard drone must first go in and kill off any ratika inside. After that, it is simply a case of smashing the nest.
This all sounds a little complicated, so lets talk commands:
status(option 1): see how much chemicals and water are left in your ship
fill-tank : when on a landing pad, will fill your ships water tanks
install , install , install , install : Install the various items required for the activity
def-d: the def-d command is the main command for anything defense related. You give the def-d command sub commands in order to control different parts of your defense:
def-d view: see which parts of the ship are in battle, defended, or infested
def-d status: view what rooms have rats, what rooms have active, and non-active defense drones and which rooms have holes.
def-d deploy: deploy the defense drones so they can fight the rats.
Def-d recall: Recall all guard drones back to the control room.
def-d sweep: Have a guard drone sweep your ship for nests. If the nest has no rats inside, it will be destroyed. If it does, you'll get a message about it.
def-d 0: Deploy an emergency drone
def-d 1: Activate the guard drone commands, shown below. Each of the commands below must be typed after def-d 1. Def-d 1 list, for example.
Note: should you happen to have more than one guard drone, the commands for each should be performed like: def-d 1 go, or def-d 2 go, etc. You can have up to 9 guard drones in total.
list: list these commands
go: tell the drone to go somewhere
busy: Ask the drone if it is fighting
count: counts the number of ratika in the same location as your guard drone
health: check the drone's damage
toggle: toggle on and off the camera
nest: enter and exit nests
look: Make the drone look around
where: Ask the drone where it is.
kill: allows you to lash out at ratika in return. You might miss at times.
setup trap: deploy a ratika trap in a room
use : use a hole repair kit to repair holes in a ship
repair holes: order your ship to repair holes, if you have a hole repair module, constructable from a blueprint, installed on your ship.
outfit: From a vermin control center, this will automatically install defense drones, sprays, and extinguishers on your ship for you.
smash : destroy a nest
pick: In an outdoor room, pick a plant for use in curing poisons
At higher Ranks of game play, when you are able to harvest gas, keep your eye out for a gas called Phosgene.
Phosgene is a highly poisonous gas, capable of killing humans, dragons and ratika alike. If you have Phosgene in your cargo bay and type vent Phosgene, you will use it through the ship and it will instantly clear all ratika for you. Note that, only the initial vent will kill the ratika, if ratika enter while Phosgene is already filtered, they will simply keep their space pod protection over them, and survive.
vent Phosgene: Put Phosgene through the ships vents, requires 1000 Phosgene.
vent oxygen: Bring back oxygen into the ship. Requires 100 oxygen.
Note: Emergency drones are an upgrade.
And finally, should you wish to mitigate the amount of ratica that board your ship, you can purchase Human Anti-rat nester drones, which you can install on your ship in the same manner as combat drones. The amount you are able to install will vary depending on the size of your combat drone bay.
