Building Toys

Introduction

You can design your own toys and plushies at the Build a Toy Workshop on Navidad. A toy costs 1000000000 credits and a plush costs 2500000000 credits. You only pay when you finish, so you can leave at any time for free by typing a.

Starting

Go to the Build a Toy Workshop on Navidad and type list to see the prices. Type create, then choose whether you want to make a toy or a plush. A worker takes you to a work station and shows you a menu. You can pick from the menu in any order and go back to change things as often as you like, but you must name your creation first. To leave the workshop, choose I am done here. Thank you!

Making a toy

  1. Name your toy. This is what people will see, for example: wooden rocket.

    1. Paint your toy. This is its description, the text people read when they look at it. Type it in the editor, then type a dot on a line by itself, then choose finish.

      1. Change what your toy can do. These are the lines that play when someone plays with the toy. Enter one line at a time, then a dot on a line by itself, then choose finish.

        1. Preview your toy. The worker plays with it, so you can read every line in order.

          1. Choose I am done here. You pay and the worker hands you the toy.

          2. Writing what a toy does

A toy can have up to 10 lines, and each line can be up to 100 characters long.
Use %n for whoever is playing with the toy and %d for the toy's name. For example, this line:
%n zooms %d through the air with a whooshing noise.
            Shows as:
Bob zooms wooden rocket through the air with a whooshing noise.
Write each line as a full sentence that starts with %n or %d. Everyone in the room sees these lines.

Making a toy that tells a story

When someone plays with a toy, it plays every line once, from the first to the last, with a pause of a few seconds between them. Then it stops, so you can write your lines as a little story.
For example, the first line can set a rocket on its fins, the second can count down, and the last can send it flying.
To check the order, use preview before you pay. If your lines are in the wrong order, the editor has options to move them.
If you would rather have the lines play in a random order, type switch . Type it again to go back to the normal order.

            Playing with a toy

play with : Plays the toy's lines.
play with : Plays with the toy together with your baby.
give to : Gives the toy to your baby.
switch : Turns random order on or off.
patch : Repairs a broken toy.

            Making a plush

Choose to make a plush after typing create. Name it first, then use the menu to set:
            1. The description.

              1. The cuddle message, which is what you see. Use %d for the plush.

                1. The cuddle message others see. Use %n for yourself and %d for the plush.

                  1. The plush's response, which is what you see. Use %d for the plush.

                    1. The plush's response that others see. Use %n for yourself and %d for the plush.

                    2. Choose I am done here when you have finished.

                      Making copies

Type copy in the workshop, then enter how many you want. One copy of a toy costs the same as making a new one. Each copy comes packed in a simple box.
