general help: babies

Having a child is a very important decision in real life and on Cosmic Rage we've attempted to make ours as realistic as possible.
Babies cost $25.00 and are arguably cute.
If you roleplay out having the pregnancy or laying the egg, using the extra description request system to support this the hosts may give a discount for great roleplay.
They offer a variety of things, from having to eat and drink, to being changed, cute, race specific emotes, social responses, and more.
Important notes to consider when choosing to enter a baby request:
1. If you have roleplayed out the pregnancy, or hatching, where relevant and can evidence it, the hosts will offer you a discount or completely free baby.
2. Unless you provide exceptional rp reasoning, the hosts will deny requests that require the baby to be older than 3 months. We've put lots of fun systems in place for babies and it's no fun if everyone bypasses them!

Template for requesting a baby

We shall provide a template for you to fill out when you donate however, you might want to see what we want first!
1: Full name- This is the baby's first and last name.
2: Gender- You will pick from male or female
3: Short name- This can either be the first name or a nickname.
4: Race- Pick from any of our races in the game
5: Walking style- Here is where you will enter a walking style. Please enter it in singular form such as walk rather than walks.
6: Now, you are asked for ten 10 custom emotes- Please put %n where your baby's name should go
7: Next, you are asked for a description of your baby- Please spell check and make sure that it is correct.
8: Now, you are asked if you want to customize the messages for when your child follows you- This is a yes or no
8a: You will ask to enter what you see when you call to your child- Use %d to represent your baby's name.
8b: You are then asked for what other players see when you call to your child- Use %n as your name and %d for the baby's name.
9: You are next asked to put in what you say when you want your baby to stop wandering- You do not need to put %n
10: Same as above but for them to start wandering- You do not need to put %n.
11: You will enter what the baby does when they start wandering- Use %n for the baby's name and %d to represent yourself.
12: You are then asked to enter what the child does when they are told to stop wandering- Use %n for the baby's name and %d to represent yourself.
13: Finally, you are asked to give us some rp for the child- Please provide at least a couple reasons why you are getting this child.

Baby care:

Type use baby to tell your baby to follow or unfollow, or to write a custom emote for your baby to do.

Any of the following can be used to make your baby happy:
cuddle, kiss, embrace, smile, tickle, bounce, rock, tease, peekaboo, honk, Lullaby and more.
The syntax is:


If a baby is unhappy, using one of the above commands or playing with them with a toy, will start to cheer them up.

Other commands:

customize baby: Allows you to customize different things about your child such as their hair, emotes, and social responses
Trust : Add or remove another player to the baby's trust list. Please see the warning below on trusted players.
dress baby in : dress your baby
Undress item from baby: Removes a piece of clothing from a child.
play with : play with a toy with your baby
Nap : Put your baby to bed.
Wake : wake up your baby.
change : change your baby.
babycall: Call your baby from another player or object.
babybeckon: Call your baby but without speech.
feed to : feed some food to your baby. Should your baby tragically die of hunger, head to a nearby medical center and type babyget to get your baby back.
age : find out how old your baby is.
taketoy : take a toy from your baby.
goplay baby: Turns on and off the go play mode for your child. They will need to be 18-months or older.
tuckin baby: Allows you to tuck your child into a nearby bed in the current room.
details baby: Allows you to get certain information about your child.
cleanup baby: Allows one to make a child cleanup a room filled with toys and put them in a toy chest. Requires a toy chest in the room.
checktoys baby: Allows a parent to check to see if a toy that their child has belongs to them.
show toilet or snack box to baby: Allows your child to memorize where a toilet or snackbox's location is in a house or an apartment. Children can remember more than one toilet or snack box.
place baby on : Allows you to place your child on a piece of furniture
getdown baby: Allows you to get your baby down from a piece of furniture

Babies will move about at random and will also let out little custom emotes.

Note on toys:

As your baby grows, he or she will be able to hold more toys.
Your baby will hold his or her first toy at the age of three months, and then will be able to hold one extra for every three months after that, E.G. 6 months will be two toys, 9 months three. the maximum is five.

Procedure for baby abandonment

The following outlines what happens if a baby is abandoned by the parents or trusted friends. Any commands listed here are indicated as .
If a baby is found abandoned, he or she is to be taken to the long term child care services room at the Galactic Medical Complex immediately. It is a place where the baby is kept safe so that when the primary parent comes back, he or she can go to the facility and retrieve it. It can also be useful if you may be gone for an extended period and want to rp that you left your child in the care of babysitters or nannies. Because babies are such a highly valued item to our players on Cosmic Rage, we have decided to remove the rp that involved the GMC taking away children. You can if you have found it or want to leave it there, and if you are the returning parent wanting to get the baby back.
Warning! Adding people to the baby's trust list is at your own risk. If someone on your trusted list has your baby and has not logged in for a long time or otherwise is inaccessible, it is up to you to seek all in-character means of recovering your baby. The hosts will not magically pop in and get your baby back unless you can demonstrate that you have taken all available means to handle this in character.
Note on requesting discount for your baby: In order for you to be eligible to receive a discount, you must roleplay for a minimum of four months. Roleplay can include but are not limited to regular medical appointments, extra descriptions for yourself reflecting physical changes to your body in light of the pregnancy as well as being nominated for roleplay points by other players. Discounts can vary from 25% to 75 with the rest being covered by rp points and is based on the quality of the roleplay, the length of roleplay and how involved you have been with respect to your pregnancy IE, going above and beyond the minimum. Please note that a player getting a discounted baby is not eligible to receive a free baby after a reset.
