touring Koroku
Sector: Sector 03The planet on the view screen appears to be going through a metamorphosis of sorts. The northern hemisphere near the designated landing beacon is a veritable hive of activity, construction efforts and half-built structures visible to the ships scanner. On the other side of a blue stretch of river to the south of the buildings, an on-screen label identifies a green forested area as an "animal park." In contrast to the forward progress being made here, the entire southern half of the planet is in ruins. What once may have been cities are no more than shells of buildings which the computer's surface scans do nothing to flatter. The atmosphere is dark grey and clearly damaged, immense air purification systems visible as patches of bright pink against the miserable background. According to environmental readings, the planet is just hanging onto the edge of being friendly to life, especially in the region directly adjacent to the atmosphere restoration efforts.

Events:
Start date | End Date | title | Category | type | Places referenced | People Referenced | Description |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1893 | 1893 | Founding of the Koroku Tribal federation | event | The Caitsa, deeply territorial by nature, formed the Koroku Tribal Federation to unite various clans across their planet, Koroku. With strict boundaries between territories, Caitsa clans protected valuable resources like Bunchaki trees and unique minerals. This unity fostered a fierce sense of identity and pride among Caitsa clans. | |||
1935 | 1935 | Discovery of Anesthetic Venom Use | event | Caitsa herbalists discovered that their venom had anesthetic properties, capable of incapacitating other creatures temporarily. This advancement allowed Caitsa warriors to dominate in territorial skirmishes, establishing themselves as formidable combatants within Koroku. | |||
1970 | 1970 | Great Bunchaki Tree Crisis | event | A blight struck the Bunchaki trees, critical to Caitsa dietary needs, sparking a severe food shortage. This crisis intensified clan conflicts as Caitsa tribes defended their groves and resource access, further embedding their combative and territorial nature. | |||
1992 | 1992 | Koroku's First Space Exploration Program | event | Driven by curiosity and resource necessity, the Caitsa launched their first space exploration program, primitive yet groundbreaking. This initiative laid the foundation for Caitsa’s technological development and eventual conflict with humanity. | |||
2015 | 2015 | Expansion into Koroku Colonies | event | Caitsa explorers reached several nearby asteroids and claimed it as an extension of their territory. This milestone represented Caitsa’s transition to a spacefaring species and heightened their resource extraction capabilities, setting the stage for interplanetary ambitions. | |||
2200 | 2200 | Battle of Koroku orbit | event | Human forces attempted to break through Caitsa-controlled regions near Koroku but met heavy resistance. Caitsa ships used advantages of Koroku's orbit for cover, ambushing human fleets in close combat, resulting in one of humanity’s most devastating defeats. | |||
2201 | 2201 | Human Counter-Blockade on Koroku | event | In response to the Maraquda blockade, humanity established a blockade around Koroku, attempting to weaken Caitsa by restricting resources. This resulted in a brutal standoff, as both sides fought to maintain their lines in a costly war of attrition. | |||
2207 | 2207 | Desperate Assault on Koroku’s Surface by Human Forces | event | Human forces, near defeat, launched a final desperate assault on Koroku's surface. Caitsa warriors defended fiercely, using their territorial knowledge to gain an edge in ground combat, resulting in heavy casualties for both sides. | |||
2209 | 2209 | Several chemical weapons are developed by the desperate human defendors. | event | Dr. Helena Maraine, Maraquden biological scientist, is creditted with the development of two new chemical weapons, 1 an anti-agent for interspecies toxins and anesthetics such as those used by the Caitsa, and the second is a genetically modified virus specifically designed to attach to the Caitsa food source, the Bunchaki trees, and illiminate them. | |||
2210 | 2210 | The destruction of the Bunchaki trees | event | Humanity, high off of its localised victorious move of neutralising the Caitsa venum, push forward with everything they have and blockade Koroku. Over the next month or two, they undertake huge space to ground bombardment campaigns until, using emergency powers gifted to him by Earth governments at the start of the war, Command Leader Durmats authorises the use of the second chemical weapon. Highly potent and shockingly swift, the Bunchaki trees are utterly decimated and with it, the Caitsa's ability to produce food. Within a few months the race, as a whole, is on the verge of extinction. | |||
January 14th, 2211 | January 14th, 2211 | The surrender of the Caitsa race | event | The Caitsa race, or what is left of it, formally surrenders to human Earth forces. A once fairly large population is now in ruin, their food sources completely destroyed and their infrastructure rendered utterly useless. Those who do not surrender flee into far parts of the planet Koroku while those who do are lead away to detention camps and quietly removed from the eye of a very irate public. It is considered from this point that the Caitsa race is considered to have gone extinct, though no official decloration of such an event has ever been made. |
