the naming policy

This policy is slightly more detailed than that which one might find on other games, merely due to the different methods of naming a character and or item.
character names:
characters may not:
1. Be named after a famous book, film, event, king, or queen, famous person, god or goddess, mythical person or creature unless the name falls under exclusion I.
2. characters may not have the same last names as other characters unless this has been formally agreed to by said character, and the hosts have been made aware of, and approved, it.
3. reset characters may not have similar and/or pre-used names by a person.
4. You may not have a name of a formally dead character, unless the name is covered in Exclusion II.
5. You may not have the in character, or out of character, names of hosts.
6. Names may not contain offensive language, racist words, or slang.
7. Characters may not have names that are considered similar by the hosts, such as, changing a single, or a couple, letters in a name to form the same word. Julius is the same as Julias for example.
Item names:
Item names cover vehicles, starships or general misc items.
1. Item names may not contain offensive language.
2. Names may not be derived from famous books, films, events, kings, or queens, famous person, god or goddess, mythical person or creature, modern day town or members of leadership unless the name falls under exclusion I.
3. Item names may not contain 21st century, or before, references unless covered in exclusion 1.
4. Names may not contain racist terms, slang terms, abbreviations not already covered in the game.
Naming laws:
Cosmic Rage makes no copyright claim to, makes no profit off of, and claims no ownership to, any names found on the game other than those provided by the game itself. Any customisable names created by players and not formally owned by the hosts are the sole responsibility, and legal choice of, the player who owns the object.
I. Names that are common place in modern day society that were found in history, such as victoria, elizabeth, george, athena and morgana are acceptable under the idea that they are common place names. As a rule of thumb, do you know three or more people with this name? If so go ahead and use it. The formal decision is up to the hosting teams ruling.
II. Formally dead character names may be reused if the name is not uncommon. Antharox Ansolimus, as an example, may not be used. John Smith, however, may as it is a common name.
III. Vehicle names are considered an oddity in the game. You are allowed the name of a company from the 21st century, but current day models are not allowed. BMw, for example, is allowed, but BMW x5 is not. You choose to name your item with a current day company name with the understanding you take full legal responsibility for the action, and Cosmic Rage makes no profit off of you naming the item as such.
Punishments and host exclusions:
The hosting team maintain the right too, at any time, move your character to the force renamer with a provided reason as to why your name is unsuitable.
The hosting team maintains the right to force rename your character within the first 14 days of you being active on the mud.
The hosting team maintains the right to force rename you if you have a name they consider as mere idiocy, such as "dave davidson."
Breakages of this policy are class 1 offenses.
