You are in the web view for viewing our Policies online in your browser. A policy is a set of rules on a particular topic layed out by the staff of the game which should be obeyed to ensure maximum smooth running efficiency of both information, enjoyment and the game itself.

Metagaming

What is metagaming?
Metagaming is when things in game, such as an event or rp story line are taken out of character and spoken of out of character.
What is allowed and what isn't?
Strategize, crew for missions or group activity, or share any information pertaining to an event on any out of character medium.
Out of character mediums include, but are not limited to: Cosmic Rage out of character channels, Cosmic Rage private OOC communication, team talk, team speak, text, snapchat, twitter, twitch, rs games, quentin c's playroom, facebook, picture messaging, carrier pidgin, skype, letters, postcards, adverts, Morse code and sign language. In short, if an interaction can happen in character, then it should happen in character. As a rule of thumb, imagine that there is another person in the room with you and another character. Does it look like your character and the other have some strange telepathic connection? If so, then figure out a better in character way for your roleplay to progress.
Things that are allowed:
1. You may compliment players about rp, for example: wow, bob, that was some great rp you did then when you slew the Vacus overlord.
2. You may theorize, off game. We can't stop you thinking, and we wouldn't want to.
3. Ask for advice on or get clearance for roleplay on the rp channel.
The rules of enforcement for this policy are in the hands of the online host, though the bans and punishments policy is most likely to be followed.
We strongly discourage you from discussing an ongoing event out of character at all.
