world help: the recloning facilities

You may be wondering, what exactly is the recloning system and indeed, how does it work. Perhaps more importantly, why are people not immortal, if they can just reclone themselves over and over and over? Who says when you stop recloning? who's playing god!
The truth is, no one is playing god.
The recloning facilities came about quite early on, along with the development of teleportation. In 2169, The world-famous, at least on Earth, later to become Galactic Famous Scientist, Professor Theodore Mexara Jackson identified the link between physical atoms, and data and indeed how to transform one into the other.
His work, as you can imagine, was highly decorated as it opened the lines for such things as teleportation and, of course, recloning.
So how do the recloning facilities work:
First, you start off with a snapshot. This snapshot is a template, something that defines you. It is your height, weight, body mass index, ETC. This rarely is updated, and often times people who go on diets, and make significant leaps in a few weeks then are involved in an accident can find this extremely frustrating. Thankfully, that rarely happens. Once the template is set in place, you then add another snapshot to it. This is a deeper scan of your physical attributes, taking into account your muscle fitness as well as age. This scan can go right down to a cellular Rank, which is why recloning is technically considered to be not a cure for terminal illnesses, as the victim will just develop the issue again after a few weeks.
This second snapshot is the one that is updated more regularly, and can be done so at any time by the person. All of this data is stored by the Species Defense Force working closely with the Medical core and GMC. Cloning data can only legally be deleted, as part of a trial or execution, by the leader of a race. Deleting of a clone by an unauthorised person is considered murder. the recloning data is held very securely, and attempts to hack it are considered acts of treason.
When one reclones, it is usually at the attempted order of medical drones. the process usually goes like this:
1. The medical drones detect the lifesign readings of a person go out. Each person has a very small chip implanted into them at birth. This chip is not optional, unless one is an anticlonist.
2. The medical drones identify the last saved clone of the person and the state of cellular decay.
3. If possible, the drones order a reclone.
4. A new person is built out of the data stored on the computer and new cells are formed in the labs. The recloning process takes about 45 seconds to build the clone, and then 5 minutes to wake up life within it.
5. The clone is released.
cloning sickness:
Cloning sickness is the state of unsteadiness that a lot of people report directly after the cloning has occurred. Medically speaking, Doctors advise that a person rest for at least 3 to 5 minutes while their minds adjust to a body.
"People are idiots." claimed a historical Doctor, who spent his life researching a cure for the issue. "They do not rest, and thus you have cloning sickness, if they rest, they don't get sick. It's quite simple, and not the disease I was led to believe."
Anticlonists:
anticlonists are people, for what ever reason, who do not have a clone due to a dislike for the procedure. Anticlonists are often viewed upon by the working world as a little bit strange.
Reasons for not recloning:
The recloning process is still not perfect and there are many reasons for it to fail:
1. Cellular decay. This is where the persons cells are too old to withstand recloning, and just crumble when the attempt is made. This is when the person is believed to have died completely, i.e of old age.
2. If the person dies of an illness, and the clone would also contain that illness.
3. Traumatic memories. The clone is reborn with all of its memories and that usually includes the method of death last time. No one quite knows why this is, though religion would argue about the soul being transferred to the new clone. This transfer however can often cause cloning madness, in which the mind can not withstand the idea of the last death, or that indeed he or she did die. This is called cloning madness and is the most common reason people do not reclone.
4. An error. Rarely now, but still possible, is the chance that the data is invalid and can not be used.
other races:
It is thought that the Shalka have recloning technology, as they came from the alliance.
We know that the droids do not have a need for it.
The vacus are suspected of attempting to develop it.
it is unknown if the Kaltz and or Embahi have it.
