world help: the civilian defense

When the Earth Alliance became the ruling powerhouse, something that became obvious straight away was the fact was that coruption would be so easy.
Within 5 years, a person could have the Earth alliance working from a single dictator and pilots would be under the wims of a single person.
This was seen as unacceptable by the people and as such a revolution begun.
It never got off of the ground however, literally, because the Earth governments at the time did not want a war with their own people.
This lead to one of the calmest revolutions known in human history.
It got nicknamed the war of words as civilians and Politicians alike began arguing publicly over social media and in major cities until a year after it had begun, a politician got into a fist fight with a civilian, ending with them both in jail.
It became rather a laughing point for the whole thing, though the underlying unease for everyone was that this would steadily get worse.
As the power of the military increased through the 22nd century, the riots became more prominant and more violent.
It came to a head in 2167, when a civilian protest was forcibly removed from an area with the aid of strong military force.
This sparked world-wide strikes, with an estimated 65 percent of the planet's operations stopping completely in one day leaving politicians with a problem.
Orders filtered down for military action, but after 49 percent of the military also walked out, it became a crisis.
Over a series of three days, the politicians debated what to do until finally the voice of the Civilians was accepted. This sparked the creation of the organisation known as the Civilian Defense.
Since then, this rapidly growing and ever present group has stood for civilian freedom and the right of a man or woman to make his or her own choices, no matter what.
The civilian defense, as you can imagine, is often against military actions that involve patrols or restrictions and have more than once come to near blows with military leaders over one thing or another.
They are a closed door organisation, meaning that members are selected by the ruling board.
Due to their often friction-like relationship with the military, they are not welcome on Star Command.
Due to their hold over commerce and a lot of companies throughout the Civilians however, they also carry a healthy dose of persuasive power and needed care when any decision is made.
The Civilian Defenses slogan is "Ensuring the safety and freedom of you and your pet from birth till death."
