world help: The Mutariansi Elders

The elders of Mulrala are as much physical beings as they are legends of time.
It is believed that on Mulrala, the Mutariansi race descended originally from 30 specific beings, one for each big forest of Mulrala.
In the time since however, this number has dwindled with a few of the family lines dying out and others being wiped out by war, disease or by simply merging with one of the others.
Until the late 2450's there were actually 19 family lines remaining, but since the Vacus invasion this number has swiftly dropped to 12.
The concept of "Mutariansi elder's" began in what would be around 600 to 650 A.D. Earth years, when several Mutariansi packs, rather like tribes, grouped together in order to begin sharing resources and creating genetic diversity. At this time the fittest of each pack was chosen to be what in Earth terms we would call a Chief.
These chiefs met together at each season's change to discuss that which needed discussing: anything from resource changes, to new race discoveries and more.
In the late 9th century Earth time it is believed that something happened that caused the elder's, for that is what they were now named, to go into hiding and only use their telepathic abilities to communicate with their packs.
It is unclear, thanks to there being no written record, what this is and many theories are proposed from war, to a plague of some kind, to simply overly aggressive animals and a concern for safety.
By the 12th century Earth time, the knowledge of just who exactly the elder was became a guarded secret and, upon an elder's death, his partner would choose the next to become elder. As you might expect, this was usually a member of close family, such as a son or daughter.
Thanks to this, and the fact that like wolves the Mutariansi of these years were extremely pack orientated it soon became clear that a majority of said race were, in some way, descended from that original 30 for which the packs were named after.
By the 16th century that fact had become some what of a prideful thing and while it never manifested into social standing, many Mutariansi carry great respect for those who are descended from elders who have had descendants perform particularly significant events.
As previously stated, these days there are only 12 Mutariansi elders remaining and their location is still unknown to nearly all. It is believed that most, if not all, living Mutariansi these days are descended from these 12 family lines that still have representatives, for the Mutariansi hold great belief that if a family line were still alive, it would still have an elder by default.
Here is a list of the remaining family lines and what they are famous for on Mulrala:
Ansurrie: Originally from a mountainous region, descendants of this family usually have no trouble with climbing or heights.
Demyaan: Coming from near the middle of Mulrala in a smaller forest, descendants of this line are known to be careful with other people when it comes to resources and will hoard things for themselves.
Henratsu: Famous as being the pack who discovered humans, these are the most outgoing of the family lines and are not shy about seeking companions. They come originally from a huge forest set between two rivers called, quite simply: Rough, and wide.
Hilsvana: Famously matriarchal, this family line originates in the western part of Mulrala in a fairly large forest called Timbara. The forest still stands today and is noted for having many clearings that naturally form. This pack is particularly noted for their sense of nature and knowing when plants are growing or dying.
Kiltsanra: Spanning two territories, one in the northwestern part of the planet and one on the southwestern part this huge family is known mostly as scavengers, never afraid to wait for a bigger, stronger animal to bring down a kill before they go in and steel it for themselves. They have had run ins with other packs a few times, but these days are simply respected for running several resistance campaigns against the Vacus.
Maertsvor: This pack comes from the banks of the River Tisha in the southeastern part of Mulrala. A family legend talks of a human being elder of the pack in the 12th century and this, they argue, is why they are particularly fond of human customs. this was never proven however and this belief has caused them to lose territory more than once. This family was one of the hardest hit during the Vacus occupation and often mocked for their belief that the allies would save them.
Palmara: This medium sized pack originates from a valley set between Mount howling peak and Mount shortside in eastern Mulrala. they are famous for being very family orientated and being fiercely defensive of those they consider family.
Quiltsvuri: this is the only family who originally came from under the planet, preferring to dwell in darker places out of sight. This lends most members of this pack a rather quiet and careful disposition, it is rather rare to find an extrovert in this pack.
Sarcon: This is the most docile of the Mutariansi packs, originating in a valley set above several lava streams. They have also claimed territory over several nearby forests to the northeast and northwest but have lost them over time to nearby, more aggressive packs. Descendants of this family line are famous for being easy to get along with, good listeners though not always empathetic.
Shalicuru: It is thought that this pack originates somewhere in the southern section of Mulrala but they didn't stick around for long. This family line is famous for always being up to something, happy to cause mischief and have a laugh. These days members of this pack are tolerated in all sectors of Mulrala which has rather meant that the family line has no origin.
Valrsaoro: Originating on the banks of the river Consoku, which is in the southern section of Mulrala and slightly to the east, members of this family are particularly famous for being technology engineers. they take a fierce interest in technological advancement and have, on occasion been scorned for this fact. Never for long though.
Walvarni: Originating in rather hilly country towards the middle of Mulrala, this family is used to occupying almost anything from swamps, to forests to grassland. This makes them flexible in nature, rarely flustered by change.
Note that while these family line descriptions may seem pretty descriptive and set in stone, they are merely guidelines to what you can expect from your fellow players. Each Mutariansi is unique and every group has exceptions.
