Crew assignments
To enhance the experience of living and working aboard starships, Cosmic Rage offers ship owners the ability to assign postings aboard their ships to people they deem worthy of taking on as crew.
This is done by using the Assign command in the ship's control room.
Some examples of the benefits of assigning a crew include; the enhancement of space-faring role-play, the order of having a structured crew during missions and combat scenario's and added starship security by restricting access to qualified persons.
Below is a breakdown of the available postings and what they mean:
Senior officers:
Captain: Has total access to the ship and it's systems. Thislevel of access is also granted to anyone added as an authorized owner. The captain is the final authority aboard a starship. All other personell report to the captain. The person issuing the crew assignments is automatically assigned as the captain.
First officer: Has total access to the ship and it's systems. The job of the First officer is to carry out the orders of the captain. They report directly to the captain. All other senior officers report to the first officer.
Chief Engineer: Has total access to the ships engineering and repair functions. Has command over engineers. Reports to the First officer or Captain.
Chief Weaponeer: has 100% access to all of the ship's weaponry. Also has command of all other weaponeers. Reports to the First officer or Captain.
Chief Medic: is responsible for the health and well being of the crew. They also command all other medical personell aboard the ship. Reports to the First officer or Captain.
Chief Drone bay technician: has 100% access to the ship's combat drone bay functions. All other drone bay technicians fall under the command of the Chief drone technician. Reports to the First officer or Captain.
Chief navigator: Also known as the pilot, or helm officer. They are responsible for piloting the ship. Reports to the First officer or Captain.
Junior officers:
Engineer: Has 100% access to the ship's engineering and repair function. Reports to the Chief engineer.
Weaponeer: Has 100% access to all of the ship's weapon systems. They report to the chief weaponeer.
Medic: Provides medical care and treatment to the crew. They report to the Chief Medic.
Drone bay technician: Handles the deployment, recall and repair of all combat drones, drone bays and related systems. They report to the Chief drone bay technician.
Commands:
In the control room:
Assign: Allows an authorized owner to assign postings to persons aboard the ship.
Notes: The person must be online and aboard the ship at the time of assignment. Each person may appear on the roster only once. It is best to avoid assigning crew to postings until everyone is aboard. The ship can only have 1 captain, first officer or chief position, however, the ship may have as many junior officers as are aboard the ship at the time of assignment.
In most ship rooms: Dir*ectory: Allows anyone to view the current assignment roster.
