piped emotes

An emote gets the grand title of "piped emote" when it ends with a command, separated by a vertical bar. For instance,

emote %n browses through the menu | list

is deemed piped because it has the list command at the end, all so proper and separated from the main text by a vertical bar.

The main advantage of this delightful trick is that you can use certain commands, and they won't return any output to the players. Thus, you can write an emote that describes how you pick up your backpack off the ground, and silently pick it up at the end. It'd look ever so neat and professional, just like everything in Cosmic Rage!

Mind you, as a side yet very important note, you can include several commands in an emote, each separated by a vertical bar as is the custom. For example:

emote %n picks up a folder from the table and slots it in one of the compartments of $briefcase | get folder | put folder in briefcase

This help file's purpose is to list all available commands for piped emotes with brief explanations included where necessary, just to keep everything in the same place!

laydown: when sitting at an item of firniture, lean back and lie down on it.
situp: when lying on an item of firniture, sit up so to, well, sit on it instead!
curlup: When laying or sitting on an item of furniture, curl up on it.
dismount: hop off your companion, be it a mutariansi elephant or a trusty steed.
scarf : consume something with violence and as fast as possible (perfect when this in-character event is about to begin and your character is starving).
gulp: Similar situation with scarf here, but applicable to liquids.
lead : lead someone so they could follow you.
leave: stop following someone.
follow : start following someone.
put in : put an item in a container of your choice, e.g., put umbrella in bag.
get from or get : pick up an item either from a container or from the ground.
drop : drop an item onto the ground.
list: browse menus in cafes.
wear : dress your character in an item of clothing.
remove : Remove an item of clothing from your character, keep an eye for any intruders, just in case you're exposed to something improper!
give to : hand an item to someone, e.g., give pizza to Bob.
stand: makes your character stand up.
POSE : Sets your room pose. This will provide a bit of text to let people know what you are doing, should you be in the middle of something. For example: If you were dancing at a party or somewhere, You might put "pose Break dancing in the middle of the dance floor"
pose clear: This command clears your pose. Be sure to use it when you stop doing whatever it is you were doing in your pose. Take the dancing example above. If you stop and take a seat, you'd want to clear your dancing pose.
sit : Sits down on that object.
sit : sits your player on the floor but sets a custom string.
