rp help: marriage

It is indeed possible to get married on Cosmic Rage and to whom ever you should like to do so.
The number of places for you to do so is currently limited, however we are expanding this as fast as we have ideas to do so.
In the meantime, the current places you can get married without host assistance are:
1. Navu's wildflower meadow, dragons only.
2. St George's church on earth.
3. Island On The Lake on Navu.
4. Temple of the gods on Diana.
Symbols:
each race symbolises marriage in a different way and places a different amount of importance upon it:
1. Humans. The human view of marriage in the game is much the same as it is today, though with less stigma around gender. It is perfectly legal for any form of straight or otherwise marriage to take place on Cosmic Rage. Humans still use rings to signify marriage. Humans can choose which partner adopts the other's family name.
2. Dragons: dragons marry once, and only once. This is the ultimate sign of commitment to your life mate. Upon being married a dragon's lower leg scales change colour. It is thought this is some form of chemical change within the body in response to hormones that would, back in the very ancient days, signify a dragon as no longer available, so to speak. In dragon marriages, the male always adopts the female's family name.
3. Ryuchi: Ryuchi marriage is less rigid than dragons but still has a way to go to be considered as flexible or forgiving as human marriage. Ryuchi can marry more than once, but marrying more than twice is almost never heard of. Ryuchi females take on the male's family name. Ryuchi do not have an officially recognised symbol of marriage, as they believe it creates a target for emotional warfare, however a recent trend has seen couples purchasing strips of cloth stitched with a symbol or name which they wrap around their upper arm during combat.
4. Cy-larkan. Cy-larkan do not think marriage existed before the awakening in 2400, however they have chosen to follow human traditions in this regard. Cy-larkan treat marriage as a curious amusement and while units are often loyal to each other, it is seen more as a fashion statement than an act of pledging. Cy-larkan use rings, like the humans, for symbols. Cy-larkan partners choose who takes on the family name.
5. Mutariansi. Mutariansi do not marry. In official records there are very few to no records of a Mutariansi marriage. The concept of marriage is alien to these folk, whose lifestyles of growing up amongst animals gives them a slightly more pack-orientated mentality. The closest a Mutariansi may come to marriage is considering themselves and their partner the alpha and beta of a family pack. There is no symbol for this reason.
6. Pauagiwa. Due to them only recently being freed, Pauagiwa do not have traditions as such in terms of marriage. Maraquda brings Pauagiwa up not to believe in such things, although from simple observance of the humans they may have a desire to do so. Pauagiwa have been known to use rings, or a small tattoo on the inner wrist to signify marriage.
Frequently asked questions:
1. Are cross race marriages okay?
Yes. There are places that do and places that do not allow this but there is no stigma against it.
2. Are same sex marriages allowed?
Absolutely!
Can the hosts hellp in a marriage?
we can, but we like a bit of notice so we can get prepared! If you submit a support ticket for a marriage tomorrow, then we'll probably miss it.
The more time we have to prepare, the better off you'll be.
