rp help: emoting guidelines

Here are a list of ten basic guidelines to help you become an emoting master:
1. Never include someone elses action in your own. I.E, do not assume someone will sit on a table just because you asked them too. Even if it means pausing your emote half way through while your character waits for the other person to act.
2. Do not assume. Just because someone has indicated to you about something, does not mean you can tell its story. For example, if someone has an injury, do not assume you know where that injury came from.
3. Vary it up. Don't just say, she did he does she did he does she does. Use different adjectives to vary up what is going on.
4. Provide hooks. give things in your emote that people can work off of, whether that is an action, a facial expression, or something you describe about your character, like their hair colour.
5. Be aware of your gender. Men and women are vastly different, and this can be shown in how your character acts during emotes, what they may struggle with, and how they hold themselves.
6. Be aware of your race. With a number of very different races on the game, it is important to be aware of the rough guidelines of how your character's race act.
7. Take your time. Emoting is not a race, and your rp partners will prefer a readable and well formed emote over a sloppy, half-written one.
8. Show, don't tell.
9. Vary the length. Not every emote has to be a novel, and not every emote should be a sentence.
10. Never be afraid to ask for help.
