Overview

The allied space is vast - some might even say endless. Those who cannot pilot starships or are unable to use them for any reason would struggle to travel from one planet to another. To address this, various companies began offering taxi services, which eventually led to the rise of two massive competitors. Both Intergalactica Transportation and Star Taxi Transportation have expanded their services across the galaxy, becoming some of the most popular taxi providers and leaving smaller companies far behind.
Despite its popularity, new pilots often struggle to understand how to use the service properly or what it provides. Here, we'll list all the benefits of this fantastic yet somewhat costly service.

Calling a Taxi

You can call a taxi from any landing pad on a planet. However, drivers tend to be busy - and some might even say rude or lazy - as they may land on a different pad if more than one is available. Be attentive when listening to the operator, as they usually prioritize the driver's preferences.
Once it arrives, the taxi will announce its destination at the landing pad, and the person who ordered it can board through the hatch, which opens during the announcement.
After passing through the airlock, you'll enter a relaxation area where you can sit, unwind, and chat with other passengers en route to their destinations.

Factory Taxi Service

Additionally, you can call taxis to factories, provided they are not restricted to private access. The minimum restriction level for taxi docking is "clan only," so keep this in mind when setting up your factory for taxi arrivals. Don't forget to designate the correct access tube in your factory configuration for the driver to dock with!

Vehicle Transport Service

Where would the galaxy be without vehicles - the timeless invention that has accompanied us throughout history? You can also call a taxi directly to your vehicle, requesting transport for both you and your machine.
While positioned on the landing pad or at the access tube of a factory, call for a taxi and await its arrival. When it arrives, a notification will flash on your vehicle's computer screen. At that point, you must carefully drive your vehicle through the tube that attaches to the taxi's airlock, allowing you to enter the vehicle bay.
The same relaxation area options are available nearby if you wish, offering comfortable seating adjacent to the vehicle bay.

OOC Commands

Taxi : Call for a taxi to any planet or factory (provided the factory's restrictions are set to "clan only" or "public"). Exceptions apply if you own the factory or have authorized access to it.
Return: Brings your taxi into the vehicle bay.
Driveout: Once arrived, use this command to drive out from the taxi's vehicle bay.
Manage: From the factory command deck, this option allows you to set public access restrictions.
Taxitube: From the factory command deck, this option allows you to select the access tube for taxi docking.
