general help: newbie mentors

What are mentors?
On Cosmic Rage, the hosts help the players as much as we can.
Sometimes, however, a question is just purely based on experience, or the hosts are just too busy.
In times like this, we have what are called mentors.
The mentors, or newbie helpers, are a group of hand-picked players who are exceptional at giving players great advice.

How does the system work?
If a newbie is stuck, and has a question, they can either ask on the newbie channel, or they can ask on the mentor channel.
There are also several other things a newbie can do, here is a list:
Command, description:
Mentor on, turn on the mentor channel
Mentor off, turn off the mentor channel
mentor : talk on the mentor channel
nhelp: request for either: 1. A text response to a question. or 2. A newbie helper to come and join you to help you with a situation.

How to become a mentor:
1. You must have at least Rank 100.
2. Type support, and enter a ticket.

What is the Newbie FAQ?
When a question is asked on the newbie channel, the game will attempt to identify whether it has already been answered in the FAQ. If it has, it will supply the answer given, or, ask if any matches are what the newbie meant instead.
As a mentor, you are able to contribute new questions to this.

What mentors can do:
1. Help newbies.
2. talk on the chargen channel.
3. Answer newbie assists.
4. Contribute to the Newbie FAQ.

What mentors should not do, and is a punishable offense:
1. Assist newbies in gaining Ranks outside of there own doing. i.e, you can't give the newbie points, but can direct them on how to do something.
2. Give the newbie unfair cash amounts. Giving a newbie cash at all is restricted.
3. Be offensive in any way.

Commands for the mentors:
Mentors can use all of the commands listed above, plus:
mentor-set: Set your specialisations to show in @staff.
@faq: Manage the newbie FAQ.
@ntips manage: Manage the newbie tips database.
chargen : talk on the chargen channel
@nhelp: answer a newbie assist
@nfinish: complete the newbie assist.
t-chargen: Move to a specific room in chargen.

@newbiedude: See what newbies are online.
After a newbie assist has been answered, the newbie can then rate the mentor on how they did.
Newbie mentors also have their own channels, where they can communicate only amongst themselves and the HTPL's and hosts.
Unlike the HTPL channel, which comes with all kinds of buffs, this is just an average, private channel, with history and on off capabilities.
They can access this through the NH command.
You can also, send help files to others players using the nh sendhelp command
