general help: building a megasuit
So, you want to build yourself a not so lean, but still mean fighting machine?
No problem!First of all, find the underground base.
Head to Sola Virtus Invicta and take the shuttle ride down.
Once there, head as far down as you can until you find the underground dock.
Here you may need to wait a little while(about 5 minutes).
When it arrives, board the ferry and take it across to the Research Facility.
Congratulations, you are now in the megasuit area.
The base is quite small, but there are lots of details to absorb, so pay attention!
First things first, head immediately south.
This is the main hub and where you will undertake most of your building operations.
Building a megasuit is made up of several steps, which I will talk about below:
1. Choosing your suit. there are several stages of megasuit, each stage containing 4 suits. Cy-larkan megasuits have the ability to stun a target for a short period of time. Effectively they instigate a reboot of the enemy's systems. Dragon suits have the ability to divert some of their energy to a short term shield for another suit, providing that suit does not move. Ryuchi suits have the ability to speed themselves up, while human suits have the ability to boost another suit's damage and accuracy. Each megasuit has different weapons that can be swung at a target, although more information on that is further down. they also have different shielding levels and maximum damage, each one suited to a different role in a mission.2. Getting the material for, and building, the parts for the suit. Each suit is custom built for the race, so a dragon needs a dragon megasuit, a human needs a human megasuit, ETC. this is to build up the best mental connection between pilot and megasuit. The megasuit building process is made of two parts, and this is the first. Your suits console will show you what parts you need for your megasuit. Type suits to enter this console. Each part of your suit takes a certain amount of refined material. Refined material is made up of 3 components:
Trash. this can come from trash vehicles, or trash in ships.
Plutonium, from digging
carbon, from digging.
Note that the storage facility for the unrefined, and refined, materials is public. Anyone can contribute and anyone can subtract.
To unload trash from a ship, land it on the planet and type unload-ship from the hub you should be in right now.
To unload trash, or plutonium or carbon from the appropriate vehicles, drive them to the hub, by relocating them to the vehicle arrival area, then type unload
To refine materials, type refine.
To get an overview of materials, type material.
There are a few important commands listed below:
3. Once you have enough material, you can build each part in the suits console.
4. Once this is done, you will want to get the modules for your suit. there are four module types, each affecting a different statistic of your suit:
Armour: This module is obtained by heading southeast from the dock and trading in a donation of 10000 cargo plates per armour module. Do this with the insert command.
Weaponry: This is obtained from an NPC who will give you combat missions to obtain Vacus heads for him.
Repairation: This is obtained by running mini quests for a cy-larkan NPC on Calira dura, who will ask you to gather tritanium chunks off of planetoids for her.
Stun guns: These are obtained by running planet chunks. If you have a suit being built, they will turn up in the same room as the generators.
Note: To get the question from the cy-larkan npc, type suits and then her name.
As soon as you have the modules, head over to the hub and install them using the suits console, which you get by typing suits.
5. Done all that? Sweet! type suits, and hit that big red build button. Okay it is not red, but, maybe it should be!
Suits take a little while to build. You don't have to stay here, you can go do another activity, grab a cup of coffee, or finish reading the file, but once it is done, that's it.
Your suit is built!
Sweet!
Now it's time to outfit your suit exactly how you like!
From the underground dock, heading west than south will take you to the modification area.Your megasuit has 6 slots: Left shoulder and left arm, right shoulder and right arm, torso and waist. There are 13 categories to choose from for things to put in these slots, one per slot so you can't have everything! Each modification has certain slots that it can be installed in, for example, long range weapons can only be installed in the shoulder slots. There are two types, if you will, of modifications: passive and active. Active modifications are:
Scanners: Long range scanners can scan one room over. Accessed using the scan command.
Short range weapons: Can only shoot things that you are in the same room as. can not shoot gunboats. Accessed using the short command.
Long range weapons: Can shoot at targets one room over, or gunboats. Accessed using the long command.
Repair modules: Repairs your own, or from level 4 onwards, other suits. to repair your own, use the repair command. To repair other suits, use the fix command.
All other upgrades are passive and will kick in on their own.
You can configure the suit in any way you like. There's no correct answer.
Bare in mind though that the left hand side of the suit, I.E. the person in the left cockpit can only control the left shoulder and arm. Likewise, the right cockpit controls the right shoulder and right arm.
Finally, the last thing you may want to do is take your megasuit all the way east and get it painted in your preferred colours. You can even get a cool design!
