general help: Shops

Shopping is one of the most ancient and time-honored pastimes since the dragons began to spread commerce throughout the known worlds. Shopping did not originate with the dragon race, but they were the first race known to engage in the practice. As the alliance grew and the races began to exchange cultural information, it became apparent that commerce and subsequently, shopping was a common social development among many different life forms. Shopping has survived and evolved over time, becoming one of the most major factors in any economy. Physical shops have struggled to compete with more convenient means of acquiring merchandise such as shopping via electronic means. However, even though technology has evolved, people have shown that they still prefer the physical act of buying, selling or trading merchandise in a central location. Shops still exist to this day; a monument to the cross cultural phenomenon that is shopping.
There are many different kinds of shops on cosmic rage. They include, but are not limited to;
Item shops: Places where you buy activity related items, food, clothing, modules, scanners, etc. These types of shops can be either planet-owned or player-run.
Ship shops: Places to buy starships. These can be SDL-run and made by a company known as Stargate Productions, or clan-owned.
Vehicle shops: Places to buy vehicles. These are strictly controlled by the MI.
Upgrade shops: Places to purchase various upgrades for ships, vehicles, containers and even drones. These shops are owned and operated by the SDL.
What you will need:
Some credits.
Shops allow you to buy and sell items with the buy and sell commands.
Commands are as follows-
List/Menu: Lets you see what's for sale.
Buy in an item shop: buy or buy
Buy in a ship or vehicle shop: buy
Buy in an upgrade shop: shows a list of all the upgrades available.
Buy in an upgrade shop: purchase the upgrade.
List in an upgrade shop: Lists all upgrades along with their price and Ranks requirements.
Additional Information-
If you were to sell an item, you must return to the type of shop from which you purchased your item. For example, you cannot sell a shovel to a vehicle store. You should take the shovel to a mining store and use the sell command there.
You cannot sell items unless you have trained your charisma skill.
You cannot sell food back to cafes or lounges.
You cannot sell starships back to stores. The way to get rid of a starship is to sell it to London, our friendly ship sales technician or by using your information computer. You can find London on the Starbase landing pad on Mars.
Your informational computer is linked to the shopping network. From there you can search and browse for useful items and find out where they are being sold and for how much. It can be found in the main directory, or you can use the Shop command.
Want a multi-colored thing? You can type, for example, "black and blue" in the color prompt, minus the quotes, and walk away with a black and blue thing.
Additional useful commands:
Cash: check your funds.
Shipinfo : Gives info about a ship for sale.
Inquire Gives one the summary of how the item would look.
Skills: charisma
