general help: Out of Character or OOC handles

OOC handles are a way for the game to be clearly divided between OOC and IC and are as permanent as your account user name. Every OOC handle must follow certain guidelines to be acceptable which will be outlined below. Please note that if any of the guidelines are violated, you will either not have been able to set the OOC handle in the first place, or it will be forcibly changed by the hosts.
1. You must follow the public content policy. Even though this name is OOC, you still may not have names from books, TV shows, films, or other popular media.
2. An OOC name must be appropriate for mixed company. Swear words will automatically be blocked in the OOC handle creation process, but sexual or offensive references will not be tolerated.
3. OOC handles must be at least four characters long but no more than 30 characters maximum. They do not contain spaces and have at least four letters and at most four numbers.
4. At OOC Handle creation, players may not set their OOC names to be identical to their account or in character names.
5. HTPL's possess OOC handles like any other player, though they will have the HTPL tag before their handle on OOC channels.
6. Hosts may have an OOC handle, though most likely, they will appear as they always have though they will usually have a host tag before their names.
7. Hosts will have the ability to see what characters are played by what person regardless of OOC handle, so feel secure that OOC to IC breaking is still able to be investigated effectively.
Recommendations:
1. Do not use identifiable things, such as your name, a character name that you have, and so on.
2. Make your name readable. Something like m00nb00ty might be funny to you, but we have to read that. constantly!
As with all other situations where you believe a rule is being violated, please feel free to file a report under the miscellaneous heading regarding OOC handles which violate policies, and the hosts will take it under advisement.
