general help: Getting Started

First of all, let me just welcome you again to Cosmic Rage.
The first thing you will want to do, if you have not already, is go through character creation. To do this, look at and read each book and statue in the character rooms, and then touch the object (usually a ball or a head) to become that race. You will also want to read the race help file for that race.
If you have not already, I recommend you read the introduction help file.
After completing character generation, you will be placed at the galactic academy. Here, you will have different classes where you can take lessons. This is an in-character way of learning about the moo and how to do certain things and learn new commands. Once at the classroom, type learn to begin the lesson. After doing that, head on over to the teleportation room and type home-planet. This will transport you to the home planet for your race.
On your way up to the teleportation room you may want to pop in to the store a floor below the teleportation room and to the north, this will give you all the things you may need to be able to communicate and find out information on the game.
When you type home-planet for the first time, you will be asked to choose a couple of classes, some that your character was good at and others they were not. These don't affect much at the moment and are more for roleplay purposes, but they will in the future so choose wisely! Choosing one class will exclude some others, think of these as timetable conflicts.
Where To Go From Here
Unlike other MOO's based in space, you can not just grab a ship and hop off salvaging right away. You must provide for your planet first. Based on this, you must complete activities and earn the Rank of at least 40 to pilot a ship.
First off, you'll want to buy yourself a radio for communication and informational computer. If you are of the Dragon or Ryuchi races you will also need a translator. If you are not mutariansi, you will also want a mutariansi translator.
These can be obtained from a communications store. Each home, or core planet, has its own communication store. there is also a store on the Galactic Academy that will give you everything you need straight off.
In addition, unless you are a mutariansi character, you will want to pick up a mutariansi translator from any communications store. This will allow you to understand and be understood by the mutariansi.
Once these pieces of equipment have been obtained, you may want to go and read the following help files:
Help common commands, recommended as some of our command syntax is different and more in depth than your average space moo.
ahelp list, what can I do?
Help skills, what is the skill system all about?
If you are not using a soundpack and you wish to, then type @soundpacks to see an available list.
Finally I recommend help merchant, which gives details on those wierd merchant ships about the place.
If you wish to, typing help without arguments will show you all of the available files.
If you end up getting stuck, you can type "nhelp" This command will offer you the chance to either ask a question of the newbie helpers, or request for them to join you and help you in person. This command is ooc and therefore you shouldn't hesitate to ask questions about commands and etc.
Recommended help files: help common commands, ahelp list, help skills, help merchant ship.
