general help: Deep Space

Deep space is any space outside of a sector that is controlled by a government.
That is to say, any box sector outside of those that have a local sector inside.
Mechanically, the easiest way to think of it is any box sector that either has a beacon station, planet or space station in is not deep space. This excludes industrial plants and factories. Anything else and you're in deep space.
there really isn't much to navigating your way through deep space.
The first thing you absolutely must understand is universal coordinates.
Universal coordinates show you how far away you are from Galactic 0.
Take the below examples:
0, 10, 0.
This says you are 10 sectors north of Galactic 0.
15, 25, 0.
this says you are 15 sectors east and 25 sectors north of Galactic 0.
It's always good to know the universal coordinates of where you leave from, though one constant is that any numbered sector, EG sectors 1 through 30, their universal coordinates are 0, their number, 0. For example: sector 1 is 0, 1, 0. Sector 30 is 0, 30, 0.
Navigating through deep space is quite literally just a case of crossing sector borders. If you wanted to go one east of sector 1 for example, you'd jump to sector 1, set a course that was greater than 6000 on the x, and go.
Here's an example:
Set course to 6100, 0, 0.
Travel. Your ship will continue to travel east until you tell it to stop and your computer will update you as your universal coordinates change.
Obviously, the easiest way to do this however is with AMU.
See sHelp AMU for more information on that.
So what about getting back?
Lets say you're a bit lost.
First thing to do is check your universal coordinates:
Lets say you're at 20, 60, -20.
You first may want to type the sector command followed by these coordinates EG:
Sector 20, 60, -20.
this will tell you the nearest jump point to yours.
For the sake of this example we will say the nearest jump point is sector 30 which has universal coordinates 0, 30, 0.
First, you could travel up. You'd want to go up 20 sectors.
This being done your Universal Coordinates would now be 20, 60, 0.
So next you'd travel west by 20 sectors.
Finally, seeing as your universal coordinates would now be 0, 60, 0, simply travel south.
Obviously there's a faster way to do this, but hopefully this example helps you understand.
That's all there is too it.
Objects in deep space:
1. Dark matter mines: Distance: 40 sectors out.
2. Exceptional stars: Distance: 75. Very rare!
3. Exocomets: Distance: 75.
4. Black Dwarves: distance: 150.
