general help: Cosmic Rage Rules
Introduction
Every significant project operates under a set of rules, and Cosmic Rage is no exception. The complete list of rules can be accessed using the "policy" command, and these must be followed even if you haven't yet familiarized yourself with them.
This help file provides a detailed explanation of the game's policies, a summary of key points, and guidance on how to appeal if you believe something was handled incorrectly.
Appealing
If you feel a punishment applied to you was unjust or undeserved, you can submit an appeal to have it reviewed during the monthly host meeting. To appeal, type "@appeal" and follow the on-screen prompts.
Note: Appeals should not be used for requesting warning removals. This will be covered later in this help file. Appeals are intended for recent warnings or punishments you feel are unfair or unwarranted.
Your ticket should include as much detail as possible, including relevant logs or evidence, to assist in investigating the issue and reaching a fair decision.
Warnings Removal
Warnings can be removed from a player's record after one year, provided the player submits a request through the support menu, accessible via the "support" command.Requests for warning removal must include a detailed explanation of why you believe the warning should be removed. These requests will be reviewed at the monthly host meeting to determine if the removal is appropriate.
Summary of Game Policies
While this summary offers an overview of the rules, it does not replace reading the full policies. You are strongly encouraged to review the complete rules by typing "policy."All actions and punishments are based on the full policies, not this summary. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse for breaking them.
Below is a detailed summary of the main policies, along with a brief explanation of each. Remember, common sense is your best guide to staying within the rules.
1. Bans and Punishments:
Punishments are categorized into three levels:
- Level 1: Warnings for minor infractions.
- Level 2: Temporary bans for more serious or repeated violations.
- Level 3: Long-term or permanent bans for severe or continued rule-breaking.
Punishments can be appealed once, allowing you to present your case during a meeting.
2. Code of Conduct:
Respect other players and the community. Avoid actions that make the hosts' work harder, report rule-breaking behavior, and act appropriately, especially around younger players. Maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere is key.
3. Hosts:
Hosts are here to ensure the game runs smoothly and fairly. Be truthful when interacting with them, as they are committed to treating everyone equally and handling reports, feedback, and suggestions professionally.
4. Metagaming:
Keep all in-character actions and decisions within the game. Avoid discussing your character or their actions outside of the game environment, as this can disrupt immersion and fairness.
5. Personal Information:
Protect your privacy by not sharing personal information in public spaces. This helps maintain a safe and secure environment for everyone.
6. Public Content:
All items and objects in the game must be properly described, and their names must align with the in-character setting. Avoid using out-of-character names or references.
7. Resetting:
Character resets should not be used to avoid roleplay situations. When creating a new character, ensure it is entirely distinct from your previous one to maintain narrative integrity.
8. Roleplay, OOC, and IC:
Roleplay is mandatory in all public areas. Do not mix out-of-character and in-character discussions. Keep these separate to preserve the immersive experience for everyone.
9. System Abuse:
If you discover a bug, exploit, or improper automation, report it immediately. If you see another player exploiting the system, it is your responsibility to report their behavior. Addressing these issues helps maintain fairness and integrity in the game.
