Charley: Howdy you soul-collecting Ragers! There are people around these parts who are attempting to collect souls. Again, you may type souls to submit or check on how many souls you've collected. You gain souls by doing things like suggesting exit messages, an NPC for an area, description suggestion for a room, ambient messages/s for a room, as well as suggesting a seating arrangement for a room. You lose souls by suggesting an NPC that already exists, seating in a room that already has relevant seating, violent and abusive ambient messaging, and suggesting a description that isn't relevant to an area. Please, oh please look at descriptions for the room you are making suggestions for to make sure that what you will submit is relevant. You will make a Charley very happy if you challenge yourselves by submitting ideas for a room on a planet that isn't Star Command, or any of the other home planets. We look forward to seeing your ideas!

Lara Stardust: hello everyone! This was a change put to a poll a while ago and it has now been implemented. IF you have a loan, when you receive cash it now automatically puts a percentage of that amount towards your loan. How much of a percentage depends on your loan. The maximum it will take is 40 percent of the reward. I hope this helps!

Because I am a very nice person, any loan that was held by any character that was over 100 trillion has been capped to 100 trillion. further any player who had less than 15 million in cash now has 15 million in cash. Lara Stardust: hi guys! Due to the fact it made absolutely no logical sense what so ever and was completely boring to the highest degree, the planetary cannon has been removed. In its place is a new system called I.P.I.D.A.D, you can read about it by typing sHelp I.P, so I will keep this announcement as brief as possible. This system is completely unlike the planetary cannon, and is also a lot fairer. I hope you like it. It is fully tested by HTPL's and is one of the changes that come under the space combat umbrella! It only takes one to bring you down, yet, it only takes one to cheer you up. I was on Facebook the other day, posted an idea, and it only takes one person to say it's a good one for me to start making it. So remember, as you play an ever growing game of 60 players of real humans with real feelings. That for one, I'm here to talk to but more importantly, it only takes one to cheer up someone's day. Remember it's 50 points in order to get into the quest, and the person with the highest points by the end of the event gets one donator item for free, including all skills maximised! Lara Stardust: ladies and gentlemen. noble ragers of the cosmic universe. It is my ultimate pleasure, after countless long nights of coding and testing, of lack of sleep, to finally reveal to you, in all it's glory... the new space combat system! What does this new system have? I hear you ask. I reply, What doesn't it have. You requested realism, we have implemented realism. You requested not needing to type a thousand commands, we have knocked it down to 3 weapon commands. You asked for low spam, we've done so. You asked for uncomplicated, we've supplied it. You asked for the ability to hit specific ship components, we've done it. To explain this combat system in an announcement would be like trying to explain the hole of cosmic Rage in a 500 word paragraph and I just do not have the words. Considering I have had to split the hole thing up into 6 different files? Well, that just goes to show, doesn't it. To begin reading, check out sHelp space combat overview. We're pretty sure, me being my wonderful team of testers and hosts, that we have covered everything, but, remember that it comes out today! Meaning, we still might have to file off a few rough edges, in particular, the balance of missions. Unlike all my other usual big releases though, this one works, and of that we are sure! To that, I oh a huge thanks to Julia, James, Stormy, Gladr Dealan and Olivia. Both for testing and for giving me ideas, and for tying me back when my fingers ran away with my brain. As far as I know, this system is 95 percent unique. You'll see why it has that 5 percent unsure when you get into it. But... Well, what can I say. It's been a long time coming, and this last week has nearly killed me, but. I think I'm proud. proud of a system that Cosmic can truly call its own. I'm really, really looking forward to hearing your feedback on this new system, so get stuck in, and enjoy!

Lara Stardust: evening all. As a little thanks giving gift to you all, I pushed ahead and got my overhauls to Galactic Science Core HQ done a bit quicker. The core is now made up of several spheres, though only one is open for viewing at the moment, others will be added later. the name of the station has changed, it is now called Astraeus, moving away from purpose names. there is now a world help file explaining the history of the station. In terms of layout it's nice and simple, but I definitely recommend you take a quick stroll, if nothing more than to take a glance at the new fancy descriptions. two of the stores have had more items put in them but otherwise everything that was on the old station is on the new one. The labs are gone, but there is a temporary one where the npc's are while the secondary sphere is built. I hope you all enjoy the new concept that this station presents, and remember to type jump when at the top of the sphere! Enjoy!

Lara Stardust: hi guys! I have now finished building a new area on Cape Dread. It is rather a boring area, but it is for military folk who get into trouble. Instead of rank deductions for small disputes, the upper level officers can now assign punishment points. If a military officer has punishment points, they go to the area on cape dread and perform a number of tasks. These tasks include shoveling crap, carrying parcels, and running around an area to touch some poles. The officers can view their punishment points, if any, by using their MFAS device. The players will be able to assign these points as soon as we decide which rank they will be put at. Until then, enjoy!

Charley: Howdy Cosmic Rage! As some of you are probably aware, the monthly host meeting is coming up on 8 December. What does this mean for me, you ask? This means that if you are interested in trying for newbie mentor, HTPL or host, this is the time to apply. Lara Stardust: hi guys! So you know how those planetoid anomalies you pick up from harvesting seem to clutter up your inventory? Clutter no more! For the mere cost of 10 million credits, you can buy a container to store them in from Sarah. Type buy from Sarah to buy it. It stores up to 100 of these little items with the store command. You can sell the containers back to her with the sell to Sarah command. best of all, when you use this container, it gets vertualised enjoy!

Lara Stardust: hi guys! Have I mentioned lately I am quite clever? Well, I am. You will be hopefully amazed by the fact that trees on the game now grow. If you visit a hunting area one day, you might see 20 seedlings, go there 3 weeks later and you might see 20 mature trees. Trees have a 30 life day process here, with 7 stages from shoots, to ancient trees. You can cut trees down when they are at the mature stage, which they are at for 14 days. On top of this there is a new command, room-resources, which shows you the resources in a room like trees, and scraps, and such. Enjoy!

So I'm not sure when this was implemented, but as I've seen this twice in the suggest queue I thought I'd bring your attention to it. I have just updated the help file to include this. When using resource trolleys, you type dump from trolley. dump bricks from trolley for example, however, you can also type dump 20 bricks from trolley. Just not sure if people new about that, because I didn't!

Lara Stardust: It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Cosmic is in the mood. Take a look at the Christmas place, glistening once again, with gifts for all and fun at every turn! in light of the Christmas season, a number of changes have just occurred. 1. There is a new elf npc on the snowy access tube on Navidad 2. When you log in, there is a Christmas quote for each day of Christmas and 3. For the next 14 days, in Santa's house on Navidad there is now a wishing star. You can go to this star and type wish upon star, and make a Christmas list of 3 donator items you would like for Christmas If you've been good, the Christmas elves may make you this gift ready for an event on Saturday the 15th The deadline for Christmas gift requests is the 1st of December. The elves may make 1, none, or all 3 gifts! It is really up to the elf and how good you've been! Enjoy and ho ho ho from Santa!

This does not, however, include control rooms, which you will have to soundproof manually if you want that. Lara Stardust: hi guys. I've seen a lot of this around, so I just want to remind you that the system of selling ships in your starship stores on factories is designed like this: 1. You build the ship. 2. You list the ship for sale. and then 3. You buy ships. IF players have figured out a way in which to create clones of the ship, for instance, the 1-pilot ship is listed in this starship store, but there is also a copy I have hear and fly around myself, it is absolutely, 100 percent, without a doubt a bug. All ship names should follow the format of, when being flown around the galaxy, type, name. for instance: The bucking bull Nate's swaggy ride. We should never, ever, see just, The bucking bull. Or, The shuttle. The only reasons we should see this is if the ship is one of a kind. If you have found a way around this system, it is essential you report it, because otherwise it is bug exploitation. I hate to be the Grump who stole Christmas, but I felt this really had to be said. On a brighter note, I hope the event last night boosted some of your confidences with that respect, and please, if you would like more like that, don't hesitate to ask!

Lara Stardust: hi guys! Just wanted to pre-warn you. About 19:00 GMT tonight, give or take 15 minutes for dinner, cosmic Rage will go through the usual monthly reboots. This one will be different in that, we will not run any clean ups, all your stuff, including those mineral sacks you might be hoarding, are all safe. Thanks to some industrial strength listening skills, the hosts have decided that the value gained from the clean ups does not outweigh player happiness and therefore any future reboots of this kind should not include them unless absolutely necessary. I am also very please to announce these reboots are not here to stay. We are working on upgrading the cosmic Rage server slowly to a new version that will illiminate the need for such reboots. This however has many things that could go wrong. that is why I am being up front with you when I say you can expect this, perhaps, as a Cosmic Rage 3 year present from us to you. Lara Stardust: hello you amazing people. After receiving feedback from the players, I looked into the code behind lasers and realised there was actually a logic error. Lets think about this for a second, I fire a beam of light. that travels almost instantly, because hello? It's travelling at the speed of light! duh! So any time the weaponeer would have to be wait would be from the lasers cooling, not the laser beam moving itself. As such, I've made some code changes behind the scenes to how lasers work that basically means,, fighting fighters is a hell of a lot easier now. Enjoy and again, feedback makes changes!

Lara Stardust: hello ladies and gentlemen. I am very pleased to announce a change to houses. You know how on Tarrania when you purchase a farm, the path expands if there is no more space, and then your farm is added on to it/ Well, instead of you going to a landing for sale area, buying a plot, and then entering it, it now instead becomes part of a community. Each community is slightly different, from Mulrala's which is part of the forest, to Salura's which you teleport to get there. As part of this, the plots of land are now open to the public. To preserve people's safety, we have made it so that, for now, only authorised owners, or the owner themselves, can enter the house itself. This is the first of a few updates that will be coming to houses over the next week or two, and I hope you like it!

Lara Stardust: hi guys! I have just made it so that any host can add context objects to a room. What on Earth are context objects and why do we care? I hear you ask. Lets say you are in the Academy, and in the description it talks about a staircase. If you type look staircase, the context object is the object you then look at. In the staircase example, it is a hidden context object, meaning you'd either have to type search to find it, or have a lucky guess. You can also get visible context objects, like the guards on Earth, or the tank on Maraquda. Why am I telling you this? Because I'd like you guys to suggest where more could be added! Context objects are a really easy and fun way for us to give more detail about an area, so if you see a place that needs something extra, suggest it, please! good ideas may get bonus rewards!

If you are in a mission sector, only people in local space will hear it, if you are in deep space, only those within 100 sectors will hear it. When selecting to import onto a info computer, it now asks how many of the selected blueprint you wish to import. Exporting: Exporting has now got a new look, sporting an exporting wizard that allows you to: 1. Add individual blueprints, including how many of that type you wish to export. 2. export all your blueprints. 3. Queue them so you can export 3 of one type and 4 of another, and the wizard even comes with a fancy prompt so you know exactly what you are exporting and can choose to go back to the menu if you are unhappy. Of those, 8000 went to Earth, and 2000 went to star Command. this new system now makes it so star command pays higher than Earth, and Kaldara, who received no minerals before hand, pays the highest. Lara Stardust: hello all! I have made an important change to how lounges and cafes work on starships. Basically, you start off with empty holds, and an empty lounge or cafe. You then go to a food bank factory, the only one right now is on Harmonia. Here, you pay 10 credits per item, and can load your ship with what ever you like from our lists. Lets say you load 60 packets of crisps, and 20 bottles of cola. Next time you go onto your ship and buy that food, either: 1, if loaded, a ration pack is used, 2, someone pays money, which you the owner then receive, or 3, the owner gets it for free because he or she has, obviously, already paid for the food to be loaded. They now vertualise a little like defense drones but they are different. once your ship is completely clean and empty of rats and nests, the guard drones power down. The next time ratika spawned, they power back up. Only 9 will spawn at a time, because that is all you can control. You can have up to the amount of rooms in your ship in storage. While we allow single line aliases and text output to be gagged, Creating aliases which send more than 1 (1) command to the mud as well as triggers which do anything other than fire a sound effect or flat out writing some code that makes your player do anything automatically is strictly forbidden By playing CR, you have already agreed to be bound by our rules and policies. This means, we will assumed that you have read and understood our rules and policies. If you have not, please do so now. Ignorance of the rules is not a defense if you get caught violating them. That being said, the staff here works very hard to bring to you an enjoyable and entertaining game. If you have a computer doing your gameplay for you, it is not only cheating, but you are robbing yourself of the enjoyment of our labors as well as robbing your fellow players of achievements they have come by honestly. Bottom line, scripting effects everyone, not just you and it is not tolerated here. If you are found guilty of scripting, we, the hosts will not be happy. scriptors have found themselves hit with severe penalties which include but are not limited to, more than a 50% reduction in rank. A 90% cash reduction as well as the removal of any titles or achievements they may carry. This will also be noted in your record and may even prevent your character from joining an organization and will not look good on you should you wish to pursue a staffing position with us. To those of you who use any sort of scripting method, you will be caught eventually, so just don't do it. That's all for now, thank you for your time and attention.

Lara Stardust: hi guys! This is perhaps not an announcement you will be pleased to see, but it is none the less important. There is now a nasty... Thing, that happens when you die. It is called Trauma. What this means for you: when you die, if it is your first death with, your skills get knocked down by ten percent. If it is your second death within the trauma period, they get knocked down by 20 percent. A trauma period is define as an hour after death. This, however, gets extended if you die during the trauma period. I'm not sure I can explain it very well in an announcement so take a read of help death for a better explanation. After the trauma period is up, your skills are restored fully. During the trauma period, you are unable to save or train. I'd say enjoy but, I think I'll just duck instead. Instead of the machine sending out mails, it now has a few more commands. first, view , this allows you to view your application if you have submitted one. Second, review , if you are authorised to do so, this allows you to either, 1, comment on an application, 2, close it, or 3, go through the questions and rate them out of 10, including an additional comment. This is useful, for instance in the sdl, because bob could apply, he could do great on 6 out of 10, but then the last four he screws up, by looking at ratings, and the comments, he will see this. Instead, typing skills on its own shows all of your skills just like it used to. Typing skills a, will look for all skills that start with the letter a. typing skills followed by trashing now shows the name, your level, the max for, and the authorisation of, the trashing skill. If available, it will also show the description for that skill. Due to this, the skillinfo command has now been removed. enjoy

Lara Stardust: hi guys! Ever had that moment where you've entered a course, typed in your speed, and... Nothing happens? the ship says it's moving, but really, to you, it looks like it is just sitting there? Or, have you had it where you've set course for somewhere, over shot, and your ship has seemingly gone round in a kind of circle before it got there? Ever wondered why that is? Cosmic Rage is great in the fact that our ship's run on a very interesting system of turning in which the maximum amount of degrees a ship can turn per second is determined on its size. A lot of this is handled backstage and really of little importance in the grand scheme of things, other than giving the hosts something to smirk about privately. I can understand though that when you have no idea why the ship is doing what it is, this can get rather frustrating. Which is why I am proud to give you a slightly new feature to this. The ship will tell you, broadly, what it is doing. For example, you might see a message saying: The ship angles hard to port and angles slightly upwards. This means that the ship is, you guessed it, going to starboard and up. Now I know what you're thinking, enter Doctor Spam, spam hammer in hand. That's why I also implemented the following. By typing system in your ship and choosing option 18, you can choose how often these messages appear per minimum. So if your ship was driving in a huge circle, and you set the messages to show every 5 seconds as a minimum, you would not get spammed out. Lara Stardust: good evening all. The private networks are now reenabled with a few twists. We understand that some folks were confused as to whether they were ooc, IC, or even if they existed. Not to mention the fact they were incredibly annoying and a bit weird to try and configure. in the interest of simplicity therefore, the hosts have discussed amongst themselves over the past month or two, and then talked to the HTPL's about, and then thought about the system and came up with the new private networks. They are still called private networks, and the command is, you got it, pn. They are however, now, 100 percent OOC. There is no IC private network and you'll see why soon. The new private network are, in a few words, your own ooc channels. They are monitored by the hosts, but are yours to do with as you see fit. If you want to discuss the world cup? go for it. Each player has a single channel, per account. The command syntax is much easier, and just over all very much nicer. Help private networks is the new file. Due to this therefore, the languages channel will be retired, as it is no longer required. I hope you enjoy.

Lara Stardust: hi! It's me again! The other element of star coring, the splitting, which required time accuracy, has now been redone. It is all now about memory. Your character is a lot more involved in doing the coring itself now, but, more than that, here's what you do. You still lock on, and you still type core split. Your character then prepares the laser pointing controls. Your character will notice either that the laser will fire to the right, so you must type core left, the laser will hit the core in which case you type core continue, or the laser will fire to the left, in which case you blow up and die. Just kidding! You type core right. Again, no time restraints are in place, so take it at your own pace. enjoy!

Hand mining, hunting, and asteroid hauling are completely boring! tedious. So boring, they make political speeches sound interesting. Therefore, I would like your ideas on, either, replacement activities, or way to make these activities more interesting. The prize for this competition is a free donator item, up to the value of 15, for the winner of each activity. For example, if your idea is selected as the best for hunting and hand mining, you will get 2 donator items for free up to the value of 15 dollars. Smaller rewards may also be given if your idea is used, but not the winner. To enter, mail your idea to Lara or the hosts as a whole. Competition 2: Undocumented items. This one is much easier, but a bit longer. For a limited time, we will offer double rewards to anyone who reports an item, or items, which have no help file or help file reference. meaning if you can't type help-search , and get some info, and you report it, we will give you double the reward! Competition 3: this competition is split into two parts: part 1, crappy upgrades. Double rewards will be given to anyone who reports an upgrade that either requires you to type repeat, or does a double payment, meaning one that charges you once, and then twice. It is our hope to get rid of these. Part 2: Double rewards will be given to any suggestions for new, logical upgrades, or new, logical improvements to the upgrade system as it stands. This includes upgrade drones. These competitions are likely to run for a week or two. Get stuck in, and feedback is appreciated!

This means that if you had or bought a ship that had not had weapons installed on it, they will have disappeared. This is not a bug. To fix this, you can either: 1. We have summarised these for your reading pleasure in this announcement. A message board post will be posted in the next few days detailing this further: 1. New Newbie helpers of Alko and Tod have been promoted, so feel free to cheer in their general direction. 2. We have fresh blood in the hosting team, in the form of one new member. 3. A flee command was added. This is because the hosts were discussing ship wrecking, and how the work is may be too much for the reward adjustment. The flee command, we hope, evens this a bit. 4. Licence skills are now not included in trauma. 5. The hosting team has been split into several parts. They are still one team overall, but certain hosts will be focusing on certain parts of the game. Lara Stardust: hi! With any luck, reload has now been revamped. there are no obvious differences, though a few of the messages may have been tweaked. The only difference to note is, with plasma missiles, it now requires both a missile box, and 10 times the capacity of the banks in plasma to reload the banks. so, if your plasma banks hold 5000 plasma missiles, to reload, you will need a missile box, and 50000 plasma. The only other obvious difference to reload is now, that, you know, it should work? thank ya!

Lara Stardust: evening all. I have a small present for you guys that I decided to code on a wim It is a new, sort of simulator, in the Academy. This one is to do with predictive shooting. If you learn how to do predictive shooting, it makes killing space enemies a lot easier because you can tell which way they are flying, and then, shoot them as they arrive, rather than shooting them where they are, they move, and you miss. This little simulator is actually just a gun and a moving target. The speeds vary each time you play, and you get an accuracy rating when you stop playing. It is super fun, super adictive and quite easy to understand, according to the two players, Denny and Syuri who helped me test it out. I hope you enjoy!

Lara Stardust: hello everyone! I recently read a very interesting article to do with game design which raised a very interesting point to me, something which I had never considered before, not to its fullest, anyway. To that end, I want to put this idea to everyone, and see what kind of response I get. I am looking to compile a team of around 3 to 4 people, who are mixed in abilities both physical, and mental. I do not mean that to sound demeaning, merely that I would like a team that contains a person who might be able to handle complex math-orientated systems, and another one that can't handle complex systems. The aim of this team will be thus: Together as a team you and I will first, go and experience other games, both space based and fantasy based. We'll probably attempt 6 or so in total. We will play each for between 7 to 14 days and analyse performance, leveling, interaction with game environment IE roleplay, welcoming, how adictive the game is, what people do on that game that keeps them coming back, and a few others. At the end of that, we will then create new characters on Cosmic Rage, and do the same process. At the end of this, my aim is to have compiled, ultimately, a large amount of data about text-based games in general, what people like, and what they dislike. This is what is known as market research, and is a common practice in a lot of businesses. It will ultimately end with data compiled that we as the staff can then act upon to improve Cosmic Rage by knowing what it is players like and what we lack. I hear you asking, why can't the staff, or HTPL's do this: Both the staff and the HTPL's are a team of individuals who work together to ultimately achieve an end goal, accept, we all, mostly, think on similar lines and have a habit of being brilliant at one thing, but not at another. To that end, half of us would go on another game and go wow! great combat system! while the other half would go wow! great roleplay system! But both of us might miss that the documentation is written in a very friendly manner, because we are all so used to reading cosmic Rage's style, which might be too technical. To that end, what do you need for this job? A few things: First, is time. This is not a role you can dip into for five minutes each week. This is ultimately, at least, a 4 day week job for 6 to 8 weeks that, while yes most of us can, and will, be doing other things, this is a job that I, personally, will be, and will expect the team behind this to, put a lot of effort into in order to get the best results. Second, you have to be able to set aside previous game differences. I will be up front in the fact that we will be trying out the other space MUDs including Miriani and Star Conquest. To that end you will need to, temporarily, be able to set aside any previous you have with the games in order for us to get clear results. And that's it. At the end of it all, I may, if feeling particularly brave, compile the data into an over all mud report, to which we can, depending on your choices, publish it on the internet for other MUDs to gain benifit from, but that's ultimately a long way off. So, lets see how it goes. If you wish to apply to help out with this team, enter a support ticket, under category 5, and just include your name, and a short description about yourself, IE are you a seasoned mud player, what is your favorite game to play aside from Cosmic, naturally, and any other thing you think might be relevant. I know I've dressed this announcement up in ultimately fancy and rather scary sounding language, but this is a very good opportunity for you, as a person, and for me, as a developer, to sit on an even footing, while you also gain experience as to how the teams of staff work here and what is expected if you wished to apply. Further, you also gain experience into how real world businesses will carry out analysis on their competitors and actions that could be taken. The entire project will take between 6 to 9 weeks in total and will start most likely near Easter Hopefully, I have convinced some of you to apply, at least. Ultimately, the team itself will help each other in terms of difficult barriers to some games, including visual elements, profile writing, ET. This is a team effort, and I would like everyone to come away from it feeling like they've learned something, and had fun and contributed to cosmic Rage's future. Lara Stardust: the very best of evenings to all of my fellow Cosmic Ragers. As some of you may know from some of my messages on ooc now and again, I have been working like a working thing in working town on working day. I have just overhauled the upgrade system, well i say I've overhauled it, I've upgraded it. Ha ha! Anyway. What does this bring to you guys, well, here goes: 1. The list and buy commands are now detailed realistic. Meaning that, if you have just entered the store and type list, your character will first step up to the display board, or whatever is in the shop, and then use it. Second, it remembers where it was left, so if someone was viewing say, upgrade 1, and you typed list 2, your character would tap home, then tap item 2. 2. When entering a store, you now see a display board or similar at the bottom of a shops description which displays what the board is focused on. You can also look at this by typing l display. 3. The list command has been changed, it now shows only item names, to see details, you type list and then a number. 4. List and then a number shows the following: 1, name, 2, price, 3, level, 4 skill requirements, and 5 description. If any of these requirements are not current on your character, IE you are looking at a level 400 upgrade while you are rank 300, then the words requirement not met will be shown next to the information, and it will be in red. 5. I think. 5. all 252 upgrades now have descriptions, and the uHelp category has been deleted. 6. Prices are now clearer. IE it will show 15000 per drone, rather than just 15000. 7. All double charging upgrades have been removed. 8. The buy command now shows different things depending on whether you are upgrading a ship, a vehicle, drone, or container. 9. All upgrades are now categorised. 10. There are more categories! 11. Buy now accepts both an item name, and an item number. 12. Display boards are now more contextial in terms of what they show to you, and what they show to the room at large. 13. The upgrades command has been made very slightly quicker. I think that is everything, but I may have missed something or other. I hope you enjoy, and feedback is appreciated!

Lara Stardust: hi! So, two things. First things first, we've changed how the rp where command works. Go us! Rp where will now not be set to locations. Instead, if there are 3 or more people gathered on a public planet, not factories at the moment, we're seeing how it goes, then they will appear on rp where. To clarify, names will not appear on rp where, but if 3 people or 6 people hang out in a bar on Earth, it will say: People are hanging out at Earth, Lara's bar. Secondly, we have changed how the @rp-nominate command works. First of all, you can now just type @rp-n Second, we've made it so that you actually choose the person, which will speed up the process at the approval end. And third: the nominator will get a small reward themselves if it is approved! Enjoy these little changes, and feedback always appreciated. Lara Stardust: hi all! A change has been to made to wormholes that make them a touch more dangerous. Remember that, when you scan a wormhole, it would say something about gamma traces? Well now that means something. each time you go through a wormhole, it will use up 1000 gamma traces. If there is less than 1000 when you jump, the wormhole will start to implode, and your ship will take crippling amounts of damage. So watch out!

As part of a scheme that is to do with game balance in terms of both credits, and resources, a few caps are going to be placed on various storage items, and buy amounts that previous were not already there. These caps will not affect your game play in any way, in terms of, they will not limit you greatly, and are merely to prevent those huge, and rather over the top, storage amounts. You may have seen the first of these in the change log, regarding resource marketing. The second has now just been implemented which is thus: Debris refineries on factories may only hold up to 500,000 pieces of debris at any one time. If your refinery holds 500,000 pieces of debris, no one will be able to unload to it in any way. Thank you for reading!

This list is not, in any way, required for you to complete. It is designed to compliment your game play, and, if you're stuck, give you a goal to achieve. There are currently 8 categories, including getting started, and 88 tasks for you to complete in total. I have no doubt these will get added to and expanded as the scheme is expanded. Lara Stardust: good afternoon folks! I bring you a few changes to how the reset command works. First of all, reset is no longer instant. due to a rise in what we call rage quit resets, where a player resets, and then regrets it, you can now abort a reset within 24 hours of typing the command. After 24 hours, the character will be reset. Due to this, the gun shot message has been removed. Hardcore and nightmare characters will still be instant. Second off, if a player selects bullying as their reason for reset, which I am delighted to say doesn't happen often, it now asks for more contextual information, so that the hosts can investigate. Next, when you reset, you are sent an off-game email which will tell you it was typed. Useful for if it was not you typing the command and you want to abort it. Unfortunately however, due to the changes that took place and the change in format, the deletion list had to be cleared. If you had a character cleared. If in the list of to be deleted, you will need to put them back in. Finally, some more options for method of death have been added. Enjoy

The curiosity event, focusing on space, was indeed held tonight, though we didn't get much done as we did a lot of experimentation around reducing spam, and getting gunner output right. that being said, I hope the end team, Briana, Jason Eddie, Akasha, Vazzieball, Eric Austin and Jim all agree that what we do have now is a system at least, that is a great start, and a few more steps in the fun direction, rather than the laud, how much spam now? front. In essence, the changes thus far are below: 1. Tracking in cockpits. the track command in control rooms has been changed. You type track to turn it on, and track to turn it off. It will find the nearest enemy, and update you when it moves, basically. this frees up the pilot, making it so that he or she doesn't have to repeatedly tell the computer to track something, or to do something else, while trying to fly! 2. Tracking in weapon rooms: Instead of a flat rate of 5 seconds, this tracking system now only updates you if their is an angle change. To that end, it is worth, if it has been a while, to double check the angle, just in case the ship is sitting right in front of you and you are wasting missiles. 3. Repeat. You can now type repeat to have your computer announce tracking information again. 4. Salvos, salvos take more charge now, see change log. 5. Repairing now takes some charge. I think that's it for now, however, there will be a few more bug fixes that I noticed, and the dream team above came up with a few suggestions to make engineering less boring that have been taken into consideration. the curiosity event will be on tomorrow, at the same time, where we will first run one or two more space missions, to determine whether we've hit the nail pretty nicely, and then, we will move onto ground combat. I'd rather not mess with ground combat too much, but we will at least gather some data, identify what is fun and what isn't, to hopefully provide a better experience. Lara Stardust: hello! It's me again! Babies will now be back to normal, with a few tweaks First, the check command has been removed. Just like with an actual baby, you now must see what is wrong judging by what the baby does. For example, is the baby hungry? Is the baby crying a lot? Emotes occur properly now, along with the cute other stuff babies should do, like bumping into each other if there are more than one in the room. Finally, I have fixed bugs where some commands gave no output if you were not holding the child. also, hunger has been made more realistic, and, as well as that, babies will now stop crying if you make them happy through socialing with them. Babies will look unimpressed if they are not happy. On top of that, I have improved the announcing messages, so if a baby does something, it will show to everyone else, for instance, Being held by Lara Stardust, Samira silver scale waggles her tail. I am delighted to announce the first of our moves we will make to remove boring activities and replace them with far more interactive, and far more interesting, ones. This first, not only is much more interesting and fun, but also comes with the added bonus of being able to be done group, or solo. To what do I refer? I speak of course, of asteroid processing. asteroid what now? asteroid processing is the replacement activity for the previously dull, previously boring, asteroid hauling activity which has now been removed from the game. asteroid processing is truly too much to explain in an announcement, though I will indulge curiosities by saying that not only is the hauling process interactive, but the second section, the part where you get the materials from said asteroid, is also very interactive. It was tested and reviewed yesterday by five players, who seemed to enjoy themselves very much. prior to that, two other players gave the thumbs up to how the hauling part was overhauled. We can truly say, hand on heart, well accept Nate because he doesn't have one, that this is perhaps the most unique way of considering asteroid hauling ever seen. We sincerely hope you enjoy, and look forward to your feedback as we continue to get rid of rubbish, and implement ideas.

Lara Stardust: the very best of evenings to you all. Our final overhaul to level 1, starter, activities is now complete and boy is this one a big one. Hunting has now been made far, far more interesting, with some features including: 1. The area for hunting now actually looks like a forest, with trees, bushes, and undergrowth. 2. There are now four types of hunting: fox hunting, Incora hunting, deer hunting, and horned-sheep hunting. 3. Dragon's hunt differently to other races. 4. Some new NPC's have been introduced. 5. You now sell your meat directly to NPC's 6. Spears now only use one hunting method, where as bows, newly introduced, use two. 7. You make your own bows, from scratch and can customise them. 8. You can look at, and social at, everything. literally, even the path. try it. There are many more features that this new hunting activity includes, something which the testing HTPL team were more than thrilled about. To give you an idea, here's the opinion of one of the HTPL's The coolest thing to me about this new activity is the maze. I like mapping things out like that, and it adds something we've never seen in cr before as far as I can think of. it's like you have to find your way around the forest and actually strategise your hunt a little. Your boy Dante: Hi players, I am pleased to announce a new addition to factories which, I hope, will add some realism, but not too much realism, making factory management a bit more "hands on" and less "set and forget". I also hope this will spark some RP from you wonderful folks. Introducing factory Life Support Centers and the concept of air quality on factories. What this means: If you own a factory ranked large factory or higher, you will notice a slow decline in your air quality over time. If the air quality reaches 0 %, pets, babies and players unprotected by spacesuits will suffocate and die. If it was me, I would sue the factory owner, ha ha. The Life support centers tie in with gas and oxygen compression chambers and together, can help factory owners maintain air quality on their factories and avoid a potential lawsuit? There is a help file which explains how they are used, so give that a good read. For non-factory owners who do not wish to breathe in foul air from poorly maintained Starbases while shopping, I recommend purchasing the air quality patch for your mapper. This will alert you if factory areas nearby have poor air quality, so visit a communications store and grab this must have patch. I hope you enjoy this new addition to CR, which was inspired in part by reading about the International Space Station. Lara Stardust: hello everyone. Just so you are aware, and do not worry. A slight clean up has been done with moons. You may recall back when, a while ago, a change was made to cap moons to 100 rooms. Unfortunately, some moons had over this limit and were essentially, stuck. The hosts have just ran a kind of clean up to attempt to get rid of these rooms that are essentially useless. Here's where you don't need to worry. If you were a moon owner whose room count exceeded 100, you have not lost any buildings. The buildings have been folded into existing rooms, and then the empty rooms destroyed. It's not perfect, as there are still a few moons around with over 100 rooms, but, it's hopefully, a nice solution. thanks for reading

Lara Stardust: hello players. I am delighted to announce that the shoot and swing command is now back online and with some extra special changes! First: If you are not wielding anything, and you type swing, your player will attempt unarmed combat, with different messages for each race. Second: All 19 of the different host built weapons that you can buy now have unique firing sequences, and messages. Third, you can now swing while in a battlesuit, and your character will punch the enemy in the face with a metal coated paw, or hand, or whatever. I hope you like the new changes. Enjoy!

Lara Stardust: hi! Me again with another combat related change, which is semi-related to the last announcement. In light of the change yesterday where you no longer see exactly how many points of damage you take, the target in the combat arena has also been changed. It will now flash a different colour depending on how hard you hit it, with reds being at the bottom, and blues at the top with white in between. The laser weapons also conform to this, where different laser damages make different laser colours. The colours actually correspond with dragon fire colours, so if you want to know if you're hitting hard, find a high level dragon and ask them about their fire colour. Enjoy!

Lara Stardust: hi! It is me for a final time, announcing a semi-related combat change, but this one only as it stands to weapons. I forgot to mention something that is actually rather critical that was changed. As you may or may not know, a rifle is a type of gun that is more suited to long range combat, while a shotgun is suited to shorter ranged combat. Similarly, we have changed some weapons such that they can only fire, for example, 2 squares away. So if you were at 1, 1, and your enemy at 2 2, you could not hit him, your enemy would have to be at 3 3. Only rifles and snipers have been affected by this change, but we hope it will spice up your experience a bit.

First, n room descriptions, instead of giving you coordinates, it now says where in the room you are, for example, you are in the middle of the east edge. Hopefully this makes things a lot clearer than they were, and makes it more interest. Second, when moving, you are no longer shown coordinates, and instead your character moves normally, for example, you move east, or you move west. finally, players who are at your old coordinates will only see you leaving, and players at your new coordinates only see you arriving. No one else cares.

Lara Stardust: good evening peoples! Or for some, good morning. a very, *yawn*, good morning. The changes to space combat are now complete, and the system has been changed in accordance with how the staff discussed at the most recent host meeting, based on player feedback. Some of the changes are minor, others are big. Here are some minor ones first: 1. If a star has been drained, it can't be used as a stargate. 2. Bug fix, only local sector stars can be used for stargates now. 3. Manual now takes a varying amount of time based on a ships size. It will take significantly longer in bigger ships. And now for more major. Angles are gone. You may rejoice. The angles system has been replaced with a far more simplistic directional system of port, starboard, fore and aft, with up, down, and neutral on the z axis. the command structure, mounts, ETC are still very much the same, and engineering has been left as it was before. To that end, a few other things have changed: Some enemies have sped up, others have slowed down, and the rewards system there in, covered in a moment, has also been adjusted. Dog fighting, that where you fly quickly around an enemy fighter and hit it with lasers, has been made more significant in certain situations. the rewards system has changed, where you get creditted for damage done, and then separate bonuses for whether the ships leave the sector, or are destroyed. the sHelp gunning file has been rewritten and sectioned off, with a strategies file also being thrown in for good measure. The new system is far less math based than the last one, with an easier to type command syntax, EG, you type wa f n, rather than wa 0 0. Less hand stretching and the like and easier to remember. Tweaks will be made to it over the next month, while we settle rewards at a balanced amount, maybe speed up an enemy here slow down an enemy there, things you can only know with time. For now, at least, space combat is back online, the help files are updated, and I hope you enjoy the changes and will fall back in love with a truly wonderful system. Feedback, as always, appreciated.

Lara Stardust: hello folks! I have made one or two changes to covers which you make in crafting rooms. First, they can now only be applied to things you wear, be they backpacks, phones, clothes, containers, ETC. More can be added if necessary, but we'll see how it goes. Anyway, new covers can now be written over by newer ones. So what I mean is, say you cover an item in one cover, and then cover it in a second, that second one will take the place of the first. This only works on newly crafted covers, though. And finally, the name of the cover will now be put onto the item name, for example, a red data pad encased in a black shell. Lara Stardust: hello! I am done tinkering with celestial splitting. First of all, you will notice that the number chunks you get has been lowered significantly. This is because there are so many planetoids, that kicking out that high amount of chunks was just frankly unnecessary. Second, a reward is no longer given for blowing up the asteroid or planetoid, because um, why would the SDF reward you for that? the alternate celestial cannon splitting upgrade has been removed. Now for the good stuff: 1. You are less likely to lose so many chunks. 2. You can now transfer the chunks for a reward. 3. the firing sequence of the cannon has changed. 4. A new upgrade, called celestial cannon explosives, and a cargo expansion to the same effect, have been added and are now required to blow up the celestial body. The help file has been updated to reflect all of these facts. Enjoy!

If you collect 10 and only have space for 6, the ship will try to put those 4 into another bay, instead of losing them like it did before.

Lara Stardust: hello everyone! I am very pleased to announce improvements to our colour system. As you may have seen in the change log, I recently fixed a bug with it that was preventing colours like blue and red, yellow and pink and the like. Thanks to the player who reported that, of course. this inspired me a little bit, because the colour code was a little bit all over the place, and due to there being several merchant options, shops, npc's, the baby toy machine, and the like, I decided, what the hell, lets clean this up and make it all nice and uniform. so I did so. In doing so, I am pleased to give you the following changes: 1. Red and blue still works. 2. If you enter a colour like black, or blue, and we have options similar to this, like bright blue, dark blue and the like, the moo will now ask if you would like one of those. In this menu, the colour you entered, for convenience, is always option 1. Further, if none of them suit you, there is a no thanks option at the bottom for you to carry on with your colour choosing options. 3. Our list of colours grew even more, so we have a grand total of 265 in the list now, growing with every player suggestion. 4. The system for choosing a colour improved as well, where as before it could bug out it will now not do that, and finally 5. all colour buying options are now uniform, and work the same way. So yay! I hope you have been enjoying the luxuries of the new cargo command, and really putting it through its paces in terms of giving those fancy arguments a try, and seeing how you can filter what you see down. To that end, I hope this announcement brings you as much joy as it does me, now that I found all the bugs and got rid of them. I am, of course, speaking of your transfer command. The transfer command now works exactly the same way as the cargo command. But more than that, here are the changes: 1. transfer times are now realistic, without being boring. 2. Transfer drones can now be looked at from the landing pad. 3. We, the hosts, can now change the transfer drones a planet has. 4. If you type transfer, and the transfer is already in progress, it will tell you roughly how long is left. 5. Transfer now accepts the same arguments as the cargo command. 6. Acids and gases are now on the same system of minerals in terms of planets with less, pay more. 7. The transfer command got a lot less spamtastic to the control room. 8. Landing pads now see what transfer drones are actually doing. 9. Cargo bays now see what transfer drones are doing. 10. Each planet has a different transfer rate. And much, much more. I really hope you enjoy the customisability of this new overhaul to a very cosmic Command. The sHelp transfer command file has been updated for your browsing pleasure. A Transfer menu command has also be added, to serve as a menu interface if you do not understand the arguments or are afraid you'll muck it up. Thanks to the people on ooc who suggested this idea. This, the latest release from the Cosmic rage coders is one that was inspired by the imagination of Angelique, and added to by Vazzieball, Briana, Parias and a few others. It is a new mission, but more than that. I speak, of course, of Baurgan Raid, the latest combination space and ground mission available for players to try out. Built as an answer to the growing shortage of cargo barrels, this multiplayer mission requires group teamwork and attention to detail as you take on the task to launch a raiding mission into Kaltz space. There are many elements to this mission that would take too long for me to explain in this announcement, so I shall take the cheaters way out and point you at sHelp Baurgan Raid. It has been brought to my attention that our emoting system is rather lacking for a role play mud and this is something I have been attempting to rectify. I'm sorry to disappoint and say this is not a release announcement. To be fair, the behind the scenes code is pretty much finished minus one or two feature additions, but I want to bug test it more before release. So what is this then? This is me asking you, what do you want out of your emoting system? What substitutions, special symbols, or extra features would you like in your emoting system. I know some of you would like it to combine actions with the emotes, like we have already done with sit and stand. that is something I can expand on if I know the specific items you would like performed. I'll be working on this tomorrow really, and if it takes that long, though I don't for see it doing so, the day after. Just like the recently overhauled cargo and transfer command it can be as simple, or as complicated as you like. The help files, under rpHelp, are split into easier to read chunks. Features of the new emoting system include: 1. Better pronoun targeting including easy usage. You can do target.him, or target.her for example. 2. More substitutes for the emoter including %fn for first name, %ln for last name, ETC. 3. Lots of piped emoting commands including eating, drinking, leading and giving. 4. Better sitting piped commands allowing custom chairs and real chairs or players. 5. Allowing of lie and curl instead of sit in piped emotes. 6. First person emotes so you see something like: you grin and hug brandon While brandon sees Lara grins and hugs you. 7. Slightly improved directional system for leaving the room. And so much more! Lara Stardust: hello guys! My phone overhaul is just about finished for now. They should be back in working order. I have put all of your phones onto the new system, though bare in mind that NPC's numbers have changed. NPC talking has also changed, and it is worth giving the help file on phones a quick once over to find out the important facts. A lot of the invisibility has been gotten rid of with phones, and most of their functions are now in logical menu form under various app categories. They've also got a few more additions, including answerphones, call logs, and increased picture storage. The range of the phones has been also improved vastly, and they're just all around very nice pieces of kit. There are now also four phone networks that offer different prices for you to choose from, though their coverage is the same. The prices of each pack will vary each week, so it is worth watching out for good deals. I think I covered most of it, but have a look around with your phone, and have some fun. Lara Stardust: hello everyone! I am done tinkering with moon splitting. Not much has changed, only the following two things, really: 1. The messages are more interesting now. and 2. It's more interactive. I've made triple sure that the interaction is nothing complicated, it is simply making the activity a bit more enjoyable, rather than just move, moon split, move, moon split. The interactiveness also gives you more control over how many chunks you get. Rather than it just being, huh, I only got 300 this time, or, huh, I only got 400 this time. It's now: huh, I got 450, can't have been that accurate this time. Thanks to the increased input to the activity, the chunks payout has also been increased. As long as you are accurate with the lasers, you could get up to 800, if not 1000 chunks! Enjoy, and feedback appreciated.

Lara Stardust: Hello everyone! I'm finish tinkering with armour for now. The changes are as follows: 1. The slots that you wear armour in have been overhauled, and removed from clothing. Clothing and armour run on separate slot systems now, which, unfortunately means some armour is now unusable. If you have armour that is unusable, it's up to you what you do with it. You can trash it, you can assist, and we'll reposition it for you, or you can assist and we can turn it into standard decorative clothing. It's entirely up to you. So why did I do this change? 2. Armour now fits directly with body parts. So if you have, for example, a Biocore piece of armour, it actually protects your Biocore 3. All armour slots have their own wear and remove messages. 4. HS now shows what is protecting that bodypart on the same line as the damage the bodypart can take. I think that's it for the big things. A few minor menu changes occured to respect the new slots, but if you see anything odd, please let us know. As always, enjoy, and feedback is appreciated!

It was brought to our attention that space mines were being used as somewhat of a way to cheat around the space combat system, and get lots of ship kills, for very little effort. The host deliberated on this. We decided not to change the damage they output, as you might expect. Instead, we decided to decrease their range. We knocked a 0 off of the end of it. In a way, this is more realistic, as mines are meant to be concentrated small explosions, rather than sector-wide bringers of doom. while I understand some of you may not be happy with this change, I can assure you that it was implemented due to player complaints, and not just because we don't like you. :)

Lara Stardust: Hi guys! the GMC have just got some love from the brain of Billybob, so treasure it, it's something that rarely occurs! First off, you can now get escorted from the lobby to the waiting area, and back again. Second off, in the waiting area, you can now type book. this will walk you through choosing an appointment time to see a member of the gMC. third, GMC members now have an appointment manager on their MFAS device. In this, they can both see appointments that have been made, and, if necessary, they can choose to confirm one. Basically, the idea behind this is player 1 says when they'd like an appointment, then members of the org see this through the MFAS, and one of them, who can make it, confirms they can. The appointment manager also will show you appointments that you have confirmed. Finally, if you do have a confirmed appointment, the mud will remind you, once a day, when it is and at what time. Lara Stardust: Hi guys! Most of this you will know already if you have read the message boards, but if not, here's a quick summary of recent goings on from the hosts. We had hour monthly meeting and absolutely smashed through the items today. First, and very importantly. We have decided to lower the maximum amount of alts you can have from 8 to 4. We have also however, lifted the restrictions about each one being within 50 ranks of each other. Now, you simply must have all your characters at rank 200 or above to be able to create another one. If you already have more than 4 characters, don't worry! They are yours to keep! The only restriction you have is that you can not reset any of your characters until you only have 4, but they are yours to play and do with as you see fit. 2. There is now a donator item that will allow you a perminent team talk channel with a password and name of your choosing on our server. 3. the mail a host option of the info computer has been removed, as support does the exact same thing. 4. The rename an item donator item was cut down in price, made an rp points item, and renamed, (ha ha) to make it more clear what it does and does not cover. And finally, the hosts have implemented several back stage coding functions that allow us to flag private network channels. If your private network channel has been flagged, you will receive a notice telling you such, and showing the reason why. It will also show up when you send messages. Flagged channels can not be left, can not boot people, and can not be disbanded. A private network would be flagged if it broke any of the rules in the help private network file. If your network is flagged, and it continues to break the rules, the network will be shut down. Flagged channels are reviewed each week. to finish on a slightly brighter note, the second episode of the Cosmic Rage Podcast has been released, and contains lot of fun stuff! I apologise for the recording quality, as it was I who had to audio edit this week, and I'm just not as good at it as Billybob is. I hope you enjoy!

Lara Stardust: Hi guys! some fun changes to shedding have just been implemented, as per the HTPC feedback. First of all, the shedding timer has been removed. Now, the longer you leave between sheds, the more scales you are likely to get. Second, the shedding sequence has been made more dragon like, rather than dog trying to get rid of annoying fur. third, there is now an upper limit to the amount of scales you can carry upon your person at any one time, calculated roughly against the amount it takes to make the armour from the cave in the dragon caverns. this limit may be raised in future. Fourth, if you shed in the same room that you can sharpen your claws, you now have a chance of using the sands to shed an extra amount of scales. I hope you enjoy!

First off, you can now supply it with similar directions to weapons if you wish. So AMU north, AMU fore, AMU 8 and AMU n will all do exactly the same thing. 2. AMU now aborts if you stop your engines. 3. AMU can now be changed on the fly, without having to stop it, then change. 4. AMU now obeys the turning system of the game, and has had several bug fixes in behind the scene stuff. 5. You can now supply it with more than one direction, so you can now move north up, or 8+ or pf u if you so wish. Things to note with this are, if you use numbers, then plus and minus can be appended without a space, so AMU 4+ for example. However, if you use the other ways of navigation, IE AMU north, or AMU fore, then you need to include a space. So: AMU fore up, for example. Shelves are actual objects you can buy and customise now and appear in description of the room they are installed in. Items are better vertualised when put on shelves now, so you don't lose anything. You can look at the shelves, and the items while they are on the shelves. You can have 5 shelves and 5 items per shelf. Each shelf has 20 places to choose from in terms of where you want it. Enjoy

A new command, debris, which gives you a detailed breakdown of debris in your cargo hold. 2. cannisters from moons can now not be unloaded in ship cargo bays, as it caused too much unbalance. 3. the bug regarding salvaging, and then trying to unload at factories with no success should be fixed. The only command I have for yu guys is: go break it! As a sign of good will, and to give you terrors some fun time to test and break the system, beating me over the head with report after report, I will be disabling ratika for 2 hours. You are already familiar with the soul traps, which makes up one part of the over all competition for the week long Haloween event! The soul competition is thus: It is split into mortal and immortal souls. What you do to get souls is suggest improvements to the game. Literally! Use the souls command to categorise your idea into one of eight, yes eight! categories! Mortal souls are given for every idea suggested, and then bonus mortal or immortal souls are handed out. Lara Stardust: hello guys and girls! I thought I'd give you an announcement, just to tell you what I'm doing, basically. I mean you may not care, in which case feel free to ignore, and don't mind the Pixy over here, but, here goes: so my current project is farming. I am determined to chern my way through farming, and I'd say I'm around 30 percent done. That doesn't sound like much, but that 30 percent is the slow percent, and it should, all going well, be going up from here. In that regard though, I've still got a bit of work to do, but at least know where I'm going and have all the data I need. After this, my next project is likely to be ground combat. I know, and hear, that you all are having so much annoyance with ground combat, and after farming I really want to crank in and get some good systems out for you guys, starting with getting the bigger, invasion style system sorted, and then the more hand-to-hand gonna punch you in the face style. That will honestly probably take me up to, and past, christmas. but in the mean time, I will also be working on little projects. You might have noticed, for instance, that a lot of the gripes were cleared out today, that is one of them. I'm also working, with the other hosts, on the ideas command, we honestly got a bit overwhelmed there! Finally, my other target is to build a minimum, or describe a minimum, of 5 rooms per day on one of the outstanding or dormant projects: partaculous Kaldara, Mission Central, Oriali. If I've missed any of those let me know. I'd like to get those projects finished sooner rather than later, too. I'm definitely open to ideas on things you'd like to see, especially for Kaldara! The HTPC has really given me some great ideas for partaculous so I'm super excited to get that done. Koroku A K A, the Museum, is also drawn in my head, but that will come after I've finished cranking out those others mentioned above. So there you have it. That's generally my plan until the end of the year. Obviously we'll still have events going on, we have a cracker of a christmas event in the works, but I hope this shows you, at least in principle, what I'm up to. I'm open to all questions!

Lara Stardust: Hello everyone! the sit command has now been opened up once again! So what's new. Basically? Not a lot. there are a few slight text changes, in terms of how you sit, and the mud now tries to be a bit smarter about where it places you in terms of default seating and such. This update was mainly code based, making the system more flexible for us and more readable. I'm not sure if you could do it before, but you can now target virtual seats, like sit left bench or sit right bench. quite a few logic errors have been cleaned up too. I'll leave the stand assist option open for a day or two, but otherwise, have fun breaking it!

I am going to be doing some work, alongside the other hosts, to move the timeline file out of the game. this will be transformed into more of a database style in your info computers, and will contain all of the events not just the main ones. for example, it will not only include when humans went to space, but also when the first mining company opened, and such. While we're doing this, we're going to make some very minor tweaks to a couple of things. For example: in 2020, instead of it being the first commercial flight to the moon, it's the first commercial flight to a nearby space station. Lara Stardust: Hello players! With the help of my trusty test ship, bob, who was previously a Vacus attack ship, come on bob... Take a bow... Well, he's shy. Anyway I have tracked down a number of issues with space combat! I know! So what things are cool, first of all, I fixed enemies firing distances, basically they were measuring it all wrong, and when they should hit they were not, and when they shouldn't they were. That has now been fixed. So yay for that. The second thing I've fixed is to do with warheads and cannons, which once they hit you once, would decide to hit you over, and over, and over, and over again. Once every second. This now no longer happens. Basically what was happening was the warhead would fire, travel to your destination, hit, and then not be destroyed. It would just hit. And then the check came around and it said hey! I'm here, ship is here, so... Hit! The bug has been fixed though, and I challenge you, go take on an attack ship or two and just watch them as they work out where to fire from, and watch as the cannon ball sails for you. It gives chills at how sexy the system actually is, when you see it fully in action and bug free. Enjoy, and as always, feedback is appreciated!

Your boy Dante: Hello Ladies and gentlemen. The Riddling reindeer and the Misfit toy contests are now closed. I am sad to see that there was more than a little dishonesty going on during this event. For the misfit toy contest, each player was presented with a toy to take to an npc somewhere in our universe. These npc's were only ever supposed to get one toy from each player, but some of you chose to use game mechanics such as transferring ownership of the toys to defeat this. If you recall, you were asked to do these individually. There were only 105 possible npc's to find. The scoring was recorded in such a way as to keep track of each npc gifted. I went through and removed all duplicates from the scores and we now have a more accurate and fair reflection of the contest, as it was intended. Lara Stardust: Hello players. As you know, we strongly encourage everyone to have their origins channel on, and have been, and will be, continuing to promote it throughout the next few months. Origins are set to be a big part of your characters experience, and they're a huge step in grouping together with people, getting involved in the Cosmic Rage world, and making a difference, be that short term, long term, or even making a change in the story line. One of the unpopular features of origins is that we merged the announcing of rankings into it. This saw a lot of users turn the channel off, and down the drain went potential rp, and grouping together! Understanding this, a new option has been added to your radios, or advanced communicators, which allows you to turn off this feature of the origins line, while still keeping said channel on. We highly encourage the use of this, and hope that this gesture of good will from the hosts will see players turning on the channel, getting involved in conversations and perhaps making changes to Cosmic Rage's story! You can access this option in the adjust command of your communicators. Feedback, of course, is appreciated.

Lara Stardust: I forgot to announce this earlier, because... Um, well, what ever the reason was, blame Stormy. I have made some big changes to armour making that will hopefully make the system a lot, lot more interesting! A lot of the messages, both in and out of the forge, have been modified, and 2 more resources types have been added to. Each armour is now an individual mould, and requires different amounts of each resource to make. they have default names and descriptions, though you can change those if you wish. Finally, when a piece is complete, a line of text representing each member of the race who worked upon it is put at the end of the description. Armour smithies have been made more expensive, to encourage the roleplay side of things. Enjoy!

Lara Stardust: Hello Everyone. This announcement is one you may find upsetting, but is, unfortunately, necessary. It has now been made to where, like all of the components on starships such as your defensive armour, the components you repair in the hatch once at 100 percent become no longer repairable. You must then go to a battle station to get these repaired. This is a change that well and truly is a bug fix, but one we've been hesitating over because of the amount of grief it would cause you guys. I've decided to go ahead and rip off the bandage, as it were, and fix bugs in the name of a good long term game. Just remember that now, if your warp core hits 100 percent, you will not be able to seal the breech unless you're very, very fast at getting to a battle station. Thank you!

Lara Stardust: Hello players! there have been two updates to the policies in the bans and punishments, and the resetting policy. These updates bring in a punishment that the hosts have been talking about for a while. Cosmic Rage is a roleplay encouraged game, which does mean we do have a few grinders on the game, too! In this regard, this new punishment has been made as a deterrent for grinders. This punishment is called the policy breaker flag. Like all of our punishments it requires the approval of 3 or more hosts to vote on it being put on a player, but basically it does the following: 1. Nullifies any gains from nightmare or hardcore. 2. Any reward of cash or points you receive, you only receive a third of the actual amount. This is a very serious punishment that we would only use in very serious situations. the details of the policy breaker flag is in the bans and punishments policy, while the resetting policy contains a warning about this flag. Please remember that by continuing to play, you agree to our policies! if you have questions, don't hesitate to enter a support ticket.

Lara Stardust: Hello guys. We have removed the attitudes to combat page in the Pauagiwa book and replaced it with a page titled Pauagiwa in combat. On this page we state more specifically what it is meant by the combat training provided by the Antanov's to their pauagiwa as well as clarifying things a pauagiwa would absolutely not do. We realise this page may clash with some current rp lines some of you have going and can only apologise we were not more clear on this issue from day 1. One man's understanding of a pink elephant is different to another's after all. We are, of course, happy to work with you as an individual to smooth over any cracks in your rp as a result of this issue. For the rest of the players we ask that, should you have seen a Pauagiwa who was doing actions that are, in the book now dictated as a bit odd, then to please just not make a big deal out of it. Lara Stardust: Good evening players! You may have noticed something rather odd that has taken place recently, or rather, something which isn't there to be noticed. I speak, of course, of the fact there was no January HTPC< nor will there be a February one. I wanted to put out this announcement to basically explain why that is, and hopefully set your mind at ease. First off, HTPC's are not discontinued We will hold one during the month of March which I shall put on the manager in just a moment. The reason we've not had one this month is simple. Currently the hosts are working closely with our htpl and newbie helper team to crack down on all tracebacks, bugs and loopholes associated with the new farming activity such that when we release it to you guys there will be a smooth running, bug-free activity that will hit the ground running. We are also working on a number of minor, but none the less important, implementations such as to do with citizenships that may shake up the IC world somewhat. In this regard, it was viewed as that if we held an HTPC, a lot of the concerns raised would be those that, by March would be obvious, for example: What's happening with farming? Well... by March with any luck, you'll have farming yourself. that's not to say, however, that we don't want to hear from you! Quite the opposite, in fact. If you have something you want to talk to us about, please do throw up a support ticket, and we'll get right on your feedback as soon as we can. Postponing the HTPC until March also allows the coders to catch up on a few things from previous HTPC's that were marked as longer term, giving you guys even more fun things to play with. Unfortunately, the ability to write in blank books, and draw in them, has been removed. To that end, all blank books have been removed from the stores. Books are quite simple now, in that you either open and close them, read them, or turn them to a page. The great thing about this new system is the writing system. As part of your text editor on your info computer is now the book editor. This new system allows you not only to write your pages and reorder them like before, you can edit a page line-by-line, you can add people to your book to help you write, you can reorder it far easier, you can reorder lines, rename the book and so much more! I have converted all unwritten books into the new system, but if you have one in your container that got missed, please put a support ticket in by February 29th or the data will be deleted! Lara Stardust: Hello everyone! We have just rolled out a new size system across planets which will hopefully make it easier to see what one planet's size is in relation to another, rather than just an arbitrary figure in units. whatever units are anyway. In this new system, sizes are shown in relation depending on your race. For example: A ship built by dragons will show size in Navu units, meaning that the sizes will be compared to Navu. So if a planet was 0.5 Navu units, it means it is half the size of Navu. Alternately if your ship is human, for instance, your ship will display things in earth units. I hope this layer adds a new fun little toy for you guys to play with and I guess, happy scanning!

Lara Stardust: Hello Players! As most of you are now likely aware, either through having seen the conference or by having heard it from a friend, cosmic Rage is now investing in a series of positions in origins. Origins, right from the start, as you know were the hosts way of trying to bring players together to create a feeling of unity within the player base. Both as a system to give you somewhere to start in the game, and give you people to roleplay with. A way to get stuck in the story as it were. Origins positions are an extension of that. For the sake of brevity I won't go over the positions on this announcement, but there are 4 in each origin, each having a unique purpose and power. With these positions also come upgrades which have been made available to the players and which are also detailed in the help file. We realise at this point some of you are probably going, dude! I wish I was in that origin! Or, well... I really put my characters in the wrong places here. Rest assured though we're trying to make the upgrades equal each other out and appeal to as many players as we can. That is to say I see no reason why more can not be added in the future. Origins positions also now serve a way for you to directly influence the game story line, with your diplomats and Chansellors able to, if you want, for example, to go to war with another origin, or you want to set up an alliance, you can now very easily do so through the application of good effort and roleplay. With these origins positions also come a number of other important additions to the game. In your destination finder, if you type the name of an origin planet like harmonia, you are now shown the history of that planet including public holidays, date of discovery, their flag and much more. It is possible we may move this to the library, simply for the sake of less spam, but it is there for now. Origins shops will also begin to crop up around the place, giving you specialty items for your origin be it statue, flags, a weapon or something even better. Finally, my fellow hosts and I are not ignorant to the fact this change mirrors systems which many other games already have and seems to be against Cosmic Rage's general ethic of don't copy others. I mean, at a glance, this is guilds, right? Guild masters, guild counsel members, the lot. It's so obvious, it's silly. We have done our best to make this system as unique as possible, both in the number of positions, their names, what they can do and so on. We simply ask your indulgence in that matter and rest assured we continue to improve upon the system on an almost day by day tract to ensure we're not even remotely similar to others. As always, your feedback is appreciated.

Lara Stardust: Hey. It's me again. I know what you're thinking. Will she never shut up? It's okay this announcement is a vastly shorter one than the previous. This is just regarding the change made a little while ago about cargo bays, which I know literally no one is happy about. I mean no one. Harvester's aren't happy because they probably can't land. combat folk are not happy because they can't move as fast, the hosts are not happy because the player's are not happy... All over a bug fix, amazing! But seriously, I want to just take a minute here to talk the change through and tell you the moves we can make. First of all, for the love of the in character world, please stop referring to it IC. Ship's don't just magically grow. I refer you back to the policy on this one where sometimes changes are made for out of character reasons, for game balance or realism. Arg! that word, realism. You hosts hide behind it just to really cheese us off. I can certainly see how it would appear that way. It used to stand that cargo bays did not make that much difference to your ship. A cargo bay that had a tank of 100 debris was exactly the same size as a cargo bay with everything in. Even from a believable point of view this is a bit... You know? As a coder, I already thought they grew and was surprised to find out they did not. All is not lost however. There are steps we can take, as coders, to make it so that the size change between one tank and the next tank up is a bit smaller, perhaps and that is something I will be looking into. Equally, however, all is not lost for the players either. Transfer can be still done at space stations, that has never changed. Dock to your station of choice, transport to the hangar and transfer away to your hearts content. Combat is still not impossible, rocket fuel is a thing that works wonders for your ships, and what is more, who needs 20 bays in combat anyway, right? We're not going to revoke this change but we do hear your complaints, even the players who roar mindlessly and beat on our door chanting free ee dom! give us food! cheese on toast! Which has nothing to do with what they mean. Work with us, not against us, we're doing the same. Feedback and love

It took us a lot longer than expected and for that I can only put blame upon the research aspect, who knew how much of a rabbit hole this activity would turn out to be? In any case it is finally done and it is finally here. Farming. Nearly all recognisable aspects of the old activity have been completely removed in favour of new, more real, more shiny and interactive features such as a farmer's market, a food system that is more workable into other game systems, more livestock and animal management and so much more. We've broken down this activity into easy to read chapters in the farming book as it was going to be too long as a help file and you may find yourself only wanting to do one part of the activity such as raising horses, or growing crops. Your feedback is more than welcome and while there are one or two things we can add in the future that have been left out of first release, I hope you enjoy what we've made. Keep raging!

The first type, the full, is exactly how they were before. A host comes in, reviews your factory and you can rank up. If unsuccessful, the cooldown is a month and you will receive a summary paragraph on ways to improve. 2. partial. A partial inspection allows you to mark specific rooms for us to look at and comment on. the cooldown for this is two weeks. Lara Stardust: Hello folks! So there's been a lot of IC noise about this, but we didn't really announce it so I figured I'd bring it to the attention of those who had yet to notice. There is actually a jury system in game now. For each trial 7 people who are relatively active have been selected to be members of the jury. Your characters receive emails about this. If you do get an email, please go to cape dread, south of the landing pad and type register. This is where you say whether you can or can not attend. Please don't just ignore the email. If you can't or don't want to attend, just use the register command. You're not rule bound to attend, you don't have to act slim Shady to avoid the hosts. It's perfectly fine to not attend. But by letting us know, it allows our system to choose someone else instead. Similarly, by letting us know you will be there, it allows us to understand whether we will have to take morphs in order to make up numbers. Remember as a jury person you don't have to know anything about law. Your job is simply to say whether someone is guilty, or not guilty. If you're unsure if you, or an alt, has been selected, head over to cape dread, south of the landing pad, and type status. Thanks and enjoy

After a somewhat in-depth discussion on the subject in our most recent of host meetings, we have decided to make a number of small changes to how the GMC organisation works. In particular our focus was on the ranks of the organisation. The ranks of the org are now split into 3 parts. Part 1, the highest, contains the chief medic, Orlanna and physician roles. That is the hierarchy of the organisation. Section 2 is the middle part. This used to be healer and medic. It also has a much better interface for you to work with when attaching items and such in the first part of the report. Lara Stardust: Hello folks. Housing is once again back online and you are able and encouraged to use it. The system has been very much improved, with commands being simplified where ever possible such as there simply being now a construct, and an edit command. These will handle about 90 percent of all of your operations. there are a lot more house room types for you to choose from now and all of them come described. On top of that, the generic, empty room type has several descriptions for you to choose from if you're not feeling creative. We've combined in many feature requests into this update, such as being able to toggle the title between the house and the plot name, as well as being able to link direction to your plot. There are still one or two things to come, the biggest one of which is ponds but I wanted to push this release to you now as ponds and the like could take a while if I want them to be accurate and fun. the construction process for houses has also been heavily modified to be more realistic and a little bit less the same message for ten minutes. If that's not enough to get you drooling, we have also vastly improved the windows of houses and the curtains you can hang within them, allowing you to open and close said curtains, customise them to your hearts content and more. There have also been some minor changes to houses such as outside rooms matching the temperature of the planet, things like that. I hope you enjoy the changes and like the new housing system. Enjoy!

Lara Stardust: Hello folks. As you know, we're always looking at different ways to prevent people from hoarding and such because the more someone hoards, the bigger the game gets and the bigger the game gets, the slower it runs. the slower it runs, the less fun it is for everyone else! At the same time it is important to us as staff to not punish, like at all. But it's further important not to punish the masses for the actions of a few. One place in which hoarding is a big problem is warp and subatomic crystals. The reason is obvious, after all. There is loads of them everywhere, especially in cargo barrels and when you're going on a blueprint hunt, all those crystals come up and what are you supposed to do with them? We've implemented two new things that may help with this in the future. First of all is that subatomic and warp crystals will now decay over time. If you keep rubbing a crystal or any rock, it begins to slowly shrink, after all, that's what erosion is on a basic level. This is not our only step however. one of the biggest places to keep subatomic and warp crystals are in the fuel tanks. to that end, you can now type process followed by the name of your tank to start it sorting through crystals it has within it. Doing this will get the tank to try and shift smaller crystals together, freeing up space for more to be inserted. Bit of a double edged announcement this one, but I hope you appreciate the reasoning and the steps we are taking to also ensure the continued enjoyment of the game itself. Cheers!

Lara Stardust: Hello folks. Two changes to report for this announcement, both of which hopefully you will like. First of all the matching system has been changed a little so that living the dream will match to the ten-pilot capital ship living the dream as an example. This is a change I'm keeping a close eye on though as if it becomes to match sensitive we'll have to reverse it. The second change is to do with the OOC side of the message boards, on which several unused threads have been deleted and a new thread has been added called lore. In the lore section you are able to flag up anything you think is odd, or could do with a back story and the hosts will then be able to review this and in time, get it implemented. Now i know what you're thinking. but couldn't we suggest that? You certainly could! however, by putting it on the boards it enables you to see who has already flagged what, whether the hosts have already responded to such a query and also allows the players to keep up with what is and is not known by the staff. Bare in mind writing histories for planets can take a little time as not only do we have to carefully look at what is already written, but we also have to cross reference the dates with what went on in other places and whether this would have impacted in some way. Lara Stardust: Hello folks! At the most recent host meeting, though by now that would be the one back in June, the subject of Mutariansi accents came up in discussion. We found it unfair that Mutariansi had to pay for each form to have a custom accent, when potentially all the other races only had to ever pay once. to that end we have devised a new donator item for Mutariansi only called, perhaps a little obviously, the Mutariansi custom accents. This is priced the same as a custom accent on a different race, but gives you access to the accents command. The accents command lets you set one accent, per form, for your race without having to pay any extra. to that end, anyone who spent rp points on extra accents has been refunded anything they paid above the cost of a single accent. Lara Stardust: Hello folks. You may have noticed the twinkle of Pixy dust in the corner of your eye, the scattering of some pink dust glittering in space as you power through the void. Hostess Lara Stardust was let out of her cupboard and before we could stop her she overhauled enemy jumping systems. Now, if you take out an enemies engines, they can not jump out of the sector. Secondly, lower, less valuable enemies like fighters and attack ships are much, much more likely to stick around and duke it out to the end than more expensive ships, like motherships. On top of that, the enemies have also had a bit of love in how they do calculate that, for instance, Kaltz ships are more likely to break and run because they don't like loosing expensive ships, where as droids who couldn't care less are most likely to stay and fight. When using AMU it is now possible to not only type AMU followed by your directions, for instance, AMU south up, but you can also add a number to the end to represent how far you want to go. So for instance: AMU south 10000. this would set your ship moving 10000 units south of your current position. Best of all, you can type the numbers in shorthand, 10k rather than 10000 for instance. I hope you all enjoy your Wednesdays, in the mean time, I'd like to inform you of a change regarding the PVP command, or rather, the complete decapitation of the PVP command. Someone let Dante loose with a chainsaw, and as a result we have completely removed the PVP command from the game, both due to the fact that it was buggy, some of the abilities just went passed it completely and because also, if you want to punch someone in the face in real life, nothing is stopping you except the fact they might hit you back twice as hard. Do not despair however. If you are someone who does not like player verses player combat or, you're not really that interested in combat, the MI are here to help! If aggressive action is taken in front of an MI patrol, they will shut down the area and call for player backup over the MI channel. MI officers also have limited powers that allow them to detain your attacker until a player can be on the scene. there is also the emergency phone number which will do similar from any public location. This just really is an announcement that the previously old, buggy and irritating system is gone, opening the door for new changes in the future. As a final side note to this, any combat-related action between two players, punching, kicking, ETC, will result in the room becoming a grid for five minutes after the last attack is performed. Lara Stardust: Hello folks! I have changed how the fire fighting activity works a little bit, based on player feedback. First off, if you are doing the activity and have to put out a fire using extinguishers, you now get rewarded. Better, you now get rewarded slightly more for putting out the fire with an extinguisher rather than using the trucks. The trucks also are now not one shot wonders and may require several sprays to put out a fire. To that end, rewards for fire fighting are now done based on contribution. If four people turn up to help put up a fire, instead of only one getting a reward, each of them will get rewarded based on how much effort they put in. Happy fire fighting and stay hot!

The Staff: Hello folks. Cy-larkan folks, specifically. You may notice in your hs command a new piece of information called oxygen levels. this is a stat that will be between 0 and 100 percent. Cy-larkans now have internal oxygen tanks that, when full, will allow them to go into hostile environments without wearing a spacesuit. Biocores are very much like brains and as such when they do not have any oxygen they die. Larkans can however absorb oxygen while in outside rooms on planets, which they can then store for later. The death from lack of oxygen messages for Cy-Larkans have also been changed. Enjoy!

The Staff: Hello folks. At the request of many of you after being frustrated by the fact you just randomly keel over and die unexpectedly, there are now messages for hunger and thirst! These messages will appear once per ten minutes in the form first you will get one about hunger. Ten minutes later, one about thirst, then another ten minutes for one about hunger. You can of course, turn these off under options as these replace the messages that used to be refreshments. If you let your character starve or get thirsty enough he will also experience some side effects. these will start first with headaches, then dizziness and staggering, then at the extreme end of the spectrum, passing out for several seconds. At the headache stage if thirsty your character will also start to find it difficult to talk on radios and in person. I hope this answers your requests! As always, feedback. feedback. feedback!

This will no longer happen as from feedback it often could abort out when you were busy, or get in the way while you were in the middle of combat. Now, when an assist is resolved, to rate the hosts you simply type assist again. This will ask you if you wish to rate your previous experience, telling you what the subject was and how long ago it was resolved as a reminder. So I'm finally willing to reveal to you the reason for the most recent of crashes most recent being the last 6. as part of the way we store some information including most importantly tracebacks we use a very, very outdated system. As evidenced, this system can break very easily. Instead of continually patching it and trying to bring it up to modern standards, I've instead decided to find different perhaps slightly efficient but more stable methods. To that end I have implemented a new method of traceback logging on the game. The last two crashes were caused by the traceback storage system becoming unusable. This problem will now be fixed. However, due to the relative newness of the new system if you notice anything odd, such as as seeing code rather than the standard message, please do let us know. If this system remains stable over the next two to three weeks, then we will upgrade the few other systems that also use the old outdated method. I hope this announcement brings you joy as it should lead to a brighter, more Cosmic Future for us all. On a personal note I would like to extend to everyone to please stay safe in these times, stay in touch with family and with the Cosmic circle of friends and most importantly: Stay raging!

The Staff: Hello folks. A few changes have been brought into affect with food and drinks which you may find pleasing. First you can now eat and drink a little more than you previously could, this will allow you to finish off foods or drinks and reduce waste. This comes with a small caveat however. If you over eat or over drink it is possible your character will find themselves feeling very ill! while they will not throw up or make a mess of themselves, they will have annoying moments of ugh I feel like crap, which comes in the form of a little bit of round time. To warn you when you are approaching this area, your character will go from just eating and just drinking, to slowly eating and slowly drinking. Enjoy.

Usually response to gripes go on the board, however I wanted to draw particular attention to the way in which this gripe is going to be handled as we have had a few of these crop up at HTPC's as well. I speak, of course, of the multiple characters policy. In this announcement I'm going to address some of the most common questions we get asked and hopefully provide answers you can understand and find acceptable: 1. What is with the fact we can only have 4 characters? We used to be able to have 8 or 9! A while ago, and by a while I mean many months, the hosts discussed the state of the game in so far as character development. One thing that became immediately obvious was that when trying to hold down more than one character, the depth of the rp begins to degrade. When you add 3, or 4 to that the roleplay just degrades more and more until you have 4 separate objects with no real personality to them, or worse, 4 characters who are basically the same! We also didn't want to cut the throat of creative genius though and smack everyone down to one character for the sake of quality. At the end of the day we wanted you to enjoy yourself. to that end, the 4 character rule came into effect. 2. Why can't I have more than one character in a clan? cosmic Rage is a big world. A huge world, in fact. In that regard we hit a player count of at least 50 per day. that's not 50 which could be 30 people and 20 alts. that's 50 unique, amazing, beautiful people, like your good self. There is no reason therefore that your alts should have to know each other. They really never even need to have heard each others names. But more than that, the clan question ties really into the final question: 3. Why can't I buy stuff, use stuff, or travel through, my alts stuff? Fairness seems to be a really misunderstood and crappy answer but that simply is it. When you joined the game as a player you were one player, one amazing, but ultimately on your own, player. And you did it! You didn't use anything from an alt, because you didn't have one. You made it to a point where you felt so comfortable in the game that you could make a second character. That's amazing. I mean just think about that. And you did that all without having any alt help. So why would you think you need it now? I refer again to my earlier comment, there are at least 50 wonderful, amazing and often times funny players who grace this game on a daily basis. When you first joined you got to know some of them. When your alt was made, you could get to know a different group. It's scary, hell I personally would be quaking in my boots! But you know it's doable, you've done it before. TLDR and all that, alts don't interact, because alts don't need to interact. And just remember, remember back when you were that player starting out, all those people who helped you, all those kind folks. Now think how unfair it would be if all those folks were like well, you know. I could give you some help, but actually I'm just going to help myself instead. Totally unfair. I hope this clears up some issues for you and clarifies all the things for the future. Keep raging and keep safe! Wash your hands. and your alts hands, too!

The Staff: cosmic Rage. The mud that cares. How many times have you heard this saying? Over, and over, and over again. It's in our adverts, it's on our logon screen, most of our players say it about us merely when the conversation comes up! We're a game built around the central, simple idea of listening, of being on a level and of an even and fair playing field. they make up a large part of what HTPC's are all about. To further this idea we've decided to try out a new level of Host to Player Chat. This is an idea we understand not everyone is comfortable with, and it's not going to replace the usual event in any way. The hosts have come up with a kind of short, informal team talk styled chat. How it will work is two hosts will be on a channel, and at a set time they will invite players in to talk in groups of 3 to 5 or so. They'll spend up to a max of an hour chatting with these players, whether that is listening to concerns, answering questions, getting to know them, or even just being a friend to chat to in what can be very lonely times. This is experimental and we're still hammering out the details at our end, however, if you are interested in taking part, please type the command interest and follow the prompts. Once we have a few people in we'll try and work out a good time and put everyone into small groups and then get the ball rolling. We look forward to meeting and chatting with you all.

The Staff: Hi folks! So as you know, we made an upgrade to our tracebacks system. As you also know, the mud keeps crashing. As you further know: this sucks. It sucks big time. More than having to wait 15 minutes in a social distance queue just to get a coffee that's a buck 50. So, you as we have may make the obvious connection: The upgrade, didn't, work. We upgraded the system, then we upgraded the server. The upgraded server maybe fixed the issue? but it also leaks, it leaks worse than that damned leaky pipe downstairs in the basement. Here's our plan. We're going to reboot the server in just a couple of minutes. This is because, like that damned leaky pipe, the server is filling up our memory and if we don't reboot it'll eventually crash and you'll loose stuff. Tomorrow, we're going to role the server back to the way it was a couple weeks ago. And the rest, as they say? Will be history. I'm writing this so that you're not in the dark about it. I'll shout as usual to give you warning of the reboot, but hopefully. Hopefully! After tomorrow, we'll be back to what we used to be. Lots of raging love.

This is quite different from the old standpoint and we understand it may have tripped quite a few of you up. The Staff: Hello folks. Feel free to star study once again. I've made some mostly mechanical changes for now in regards to how the mud handles you moving away from the star verses the star pulling you. Basically, when the star says it pulls at warp 9, it actually means it pulls at warp 9 now, rather than 1.8 units under warp 9. As well, while you are in a star the speed bonuses you get for smaller ships automatically disables itself for warp engines. This should hopefully make it easier for you to be able to balance yourself against the pull of the star itself. In addition to this I have also halved the damage you take per second to your heat shields providing the star is not overdrawn. Let me know how this goes, as I seem to be out of practice!

Even better though, remember those times where you'd go over to a field, your ship would arrive... And not be in the field somehow so you'd have to type field? Well, put your head between your legs and kiss those days good bye because I have fixed that bug. Finally, remember that bug where you'd leave your research craft on a planetoid, go to go get it later, and the field had seemingly vanished except your tracker says otherwise? call it a three out of three for the hosts this evening, as that bug has also now been fixed. In short, you can now enter, exit and find fields accurately, quickly and so much less buggy that it's like a brand spankin' new system! but it's not. Just a bug free one. So I hope you enjoy, and keep raging!

The Staff: Hello folks! this announcement concerns the equally loved and hated obfuscation field. We have made a few minor modifications to it that I hope you will like! The subject of an invisibility cloak. Everyone thinks that's what a cloaking device is, and quite rightly, too. to that end obfuscation fields are now invisibility cloaks, of sorts. When you power on your obfuscation field, if no enemy has spotted you, you become invisible to their scanners. that is, for 60 seconds. After 60 seconds if you've just sat there, eating your burger, smoking your pipe, they'll triangulate where you are, and come beat you up. If however you keep moving, they'll have absolutely no clue where to go or who to shoot. However, if you open fire on your enemy, they will also notice you. Similarly, doing loud things, like subatomic, or planetary rifting, or launching combat drones will also cause the pilots of those enemy crafts to sit up and take notice. The Staff: Hello folks. I wanted to announce this rather than just log it in a change because that will allow me to explain it. If you type olinks then a player's name it will now show you, providing it only matches to a single ooc link, who that persons alt is. However! However! They have the ability to hide their alts if they wish too. If they have chosen to hide their alts, olinks will simply just say that they have chosen to hide their alts. By default, your alts are hidden, you can change this option in the private data section of the options command. I hope this is a middle ground everyone is okay with!
